    working on it... :-)
This awesome film deserves a thread of its own.

"A most excellent film. Not just a great Godzilla movie, but a great movie, period. I'd have to rank this 2nd, only behind the '54 original.

Took the wife along, who is not into such fare - at all - and even she loved it, telling me afterwards that it was one of the best movies she'd seen in the last couple of years or more. We were both crying at the end. Powerful stuff and the main character/hero, who struggles with PTSD and fights through it... his arc is affecting and heart wrenching.

This movie is wonderful, but not perfect: a touch too long, some overacting in spots, and the CGI was kinda wonky in some shots. But overall, (and with a budget of only 15 million!), it's pretty damn amazing. The visuals are jaw dropping in many scenes. Definitely worth it to see on the biggest screen you can. Solid script, excellent acting across the board, phenomenal score & sound design and, given the budget and breakneck production schedule, jaw-dropping visuals. The Big Guy is just gorgeous. And his atomic breath?!? Holy shit!!! It will blow you away, literally. LOL"

EDIT: Have now watched this 3x. Gets better with each viewing. Honestly, one of the best movies of this year... and probably the best overall movie experience in recent memory. I don't know any film that has come seemingly out of left field and just flattened everything else from Tinseltown. Maybe simply because most went in with zero expectations but still... wow. And considering it was made for less than $15 million (many stating closer to $11-13mil), it's nothing short of miraculous. I walked out feeling the same elation as when I first saw Raiders of the Lost Ark and Aliens when they first came out. What the joyous feeling and experience of going to see a great movie is all about.

Somehow, I missed the advertisements for it. Put it on my imdb watchlist.
