If you look around, you'll find a few that have had bed racks or other heavy installations and suffered cracks. Bed stiffeners mitigate that. Cheap insurance.

Just completed a few mods to my GFC camper. Installed the gtfoverland.com GFC lighting kit. I switched up the basic install and used one dimmer and two of the led lights downstairs and the other light strip and dimmer upstairs. Also, installed some usb/cigarette outlets upstairs to charge phones and such when sleeping. Power to everything is controlled by a switch panel that i was able to fit innthe beside cubby.

I also test fit a molle panel i just picked up. Can't wait to get it painted and permanently installed so i can get more organized.

Btw, if anyone is interested in my duluth trading bag, let me know, im selling mine due to the new molle panel.

    I have a 3rd gen dcsb with a v1 gfc camper.

Have any of you found a bedside molle panel that will work with the gfc mounting clamps?

Not on the v1. They would fit around the gfc mounts.

For those who have a telescoping ladder what are you doing to store/stow it in the truck when not using it as a ladder? I've just been throwing it in the bed (I sometimes have a platform with bins underneath and sometimes don't) and it just seems to be in the way most of the time.

Same with the awning spring rods. I used to leave them in the tent part, but I have six and don't always use all six.

I've been thinking about strapping mine to the inside of the roof. It is *always* in the way!

Been searching around for ideas on a DIY base plate system for my 3rd Gen Taco shortbed to attach my drawer systems to once I build them but haven't found anything. Has anyone made one themselves or know of a thread on this?

Multiple people have. If you have the bed mat. Just trace that for the dimensions.

Let me know if you would ever want to do a group buy for this using composite materials. Grey Man Tactical will make them custom if there are enough folks.

The bed mat makes it much easier. I didn’t have one when I did mine, so I cut it out of 1/2” foil backed foam board first and then plywood ($10/sheet vs $$$/sheet). In retrospect, now that I do own a bedmat, that’s way easier….

Also cut a lot of voids in the baseplate to lighten it where I didn’t need any structure.

It’s awkward, but I can pick up my whole drawer system in one piece… so fairly light

Thanks for the tips! cutting those holes will help a lot with weight given I am putting in a pretty complex system with a water tank and aux battery system. I will attempt to find someone around here that has a bed mat. I think one of my neighbors might have one since there are a number of 3rd gens around.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Did I miss something here. You now have a canopy and an AluCab?
