Still trying to wrap my mind around why there’s three locations in California. Why isn’t there at least one on the East Coast. I guess GFC doesn’t love us East Coasters. They have never showed us any love.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Big Mike drove all the way down to ATL, where they did the PITA Tour for the hinge replacement!
I hung out with him and some other GFC owners that came by my place from all over the SE.
There was much love…but nothing weird ;)

The majority of their customers are probably in the west coast with a huge chunk of them being in California/socal hence why they put the locations where they did

Plus being in socal you can drive to those locations year round without having to deal with road closures and weather etc

I agree with that they did show us some love with the pit for sure.. Which is why I’m still a fan of them. I’ve got much love for Big Mike and for all the miles and long hours he put in during the pit runs.

I feel that but there are a lot more owners like myself in the East then you think. I’m Just saying it would be nice to have something close to us less than a 24 hour trip for repairs or whatever could come up..

No I totally hear you, I think another factor is this, I'm assuming the will still only male the campers in their Belgrade location so I know it's free shipping until the end of the year, the east coast obviously costs them a lot more money to send product out that way. I'm assuming they will have to start charging the customer even if they purchase from the orange county location for shipping unless they raise the prices yet again.

The cost of a fully decked out gfc for a taco is 8800, sales tax in orange county is 7.75 percent, so about $682 in taxes then whatever shipping is...

@Zillon just said shipping is changing to $1750 for shipping anywhere.

i think when I drove VA > MT, I spent ~$1500 there and back in gas in August 2021.

So if you purchase in orange county is it $8800 plus 1750 plus 682 (I can't see how gfc wouldn't be able to charge you sales tax) for a total of $11,232?

It should cost an average tacoma owner $642 if they drove from orange county to Belgrade and back (based on a 17mpg average at 5 dollars a gallon)

That shipping seems pretty high by about 1k, I know they put a few on a low boy trailer so its not like they're doing an individual round trip for every single unit.

Imagine buying a leer topper and having to pay for shipping when you pick it up from your local dealer.

I just went on their website, if you buy now and before 2023 it's free shipping to any of their 5 new locations but you will have to the regional sales tax.

They were just talking about it on the GFC forum. They are palning on east coast just trying to find the right shops and get the guys up to them to get trained.

I vote for NC! Well it would be cool to have them in my backyard. We got a sweet spot up here that does AluCab called Asheville Vehicle Outfitters. Nice guys and easy to deal with. Probably wouldn’t make sense for them with the deal they have with AluCab, but none the less it’s an awesome shop.

I think that is around the area they are looking. Cant remember off the top of my head tho. Defiently wouldnt be dealing in the same location as alucab. Probably dont want to be stepping on toes.

Yeah it cost me about $800 in gas to go there and back from San Diego. truck got about 14-15mpg, little less on the way back lol.

I had mine installed back in February, before they had the OC location I believe. Tbh even if they had the location I still would have made the drive. Made for a cool weekend trip.

As far as shipping, I had asked when I bought and at the time they had quoted me $2-2.5k to ship. Still have the email stating such. So seems they found a way to lower costs, fortunately.

Generally speaking, shipping freight to a business location is cheaper than residential location. They may also have another arrangement for their dealerships.
