Thank you for posting this! I contacted him and I’ll be getting one. I’m tired of waiting for GFC, and this looks a hell of a lot better than the prinsu habitat!

Absolutely!! Just got mine installed today. Love the quality! Now I’ve got to get my solar panel and 40 inch LED bar ordered to finish it all off.

What's the clearance between the overhang and the rack? Are you worried about the bed flexing and the GFC coming in contact with the roof rack?

Because I have the thinner bed caps it’s definitely less than I expected. If it does the. I’ll just trim the ends off. They look nice but aren’t necessary.

I slept in my tent 2 nights this weekend. The 1” mattress topper that I added was definitely nice. I do think I’m going to end up cutting it up to fit under the plaid sheets though.

That's what I did but I'm still not thrilled with it. Now it's a real pain to close, and with some people already having issues with the zippers messing up the screen I don't think the extra thickness is ideal. Plus the plaid sheet's don't hold the extra cushion very well. It's a really tight fit.

I'm back to thinking about removing the mattress, removing the foam from two smaller boards and going back with Exped MegaMat Duo 10.

    ...too much shit to list.
Does it make a difference if you flip the cushions?

Also, remember that the sheets will shrink just a little the first time you wash them, even if you line dry them.

Nice, I drilled two ~3/4” holes in the front panel of the gofast and used two wire glands to seal them. Worked 100% so far.

Took a look at the Raptor that GFC has during my install and they did the same thing.

Does anyone know what the bed panels are made from? Not the foam, but the rigid honeycomb panel. I assume the interior is a plastic, but are the face sheet fiberglass or plastic? If so, what type? Anyone know the vendor? I'd like to get my hands on some for what I am planning once I get my camper...which leads me to:

Does anyone have a CAD model of the GFC frame for a short bed double cab Tacoma? I'm not getting GFC for quite some time, but already have plans for the interior. I put together a SolidWorks model of my truck bed a few years ago, and would like to throw the camper model on it to start designing.

I've got two kids. I'm planning on making them lower level bunks that fold up so I can still pack the truck bed up. Although we are a pretty trim family, I think it is going to be tight up top for four people. I could make them with plywood, but would like to save the weight. I might make my own poor man's honeycomb panel by laminating some thin plywood on either side of 1/2" insulation foam. I am envisioning them folding down from the left and right sides of the frame with their hinges mounted on the frame to truck mounting points. Hopefully I am making sense.

Speaking of the panels, is anyone else worried about the UV exposure of the roof panel? Part me me thinks painting it would really help with longevity. I know that would eliminate the natural light, but I grew up in the desert and know what most plastics do after a few seasons of sunshine. Most UV stabilized plastics have carbon black added to them and I'm worried this white stuff, whatever it is, is going to start to get brittle after a few summers.

I have seen one GFC with a delamination bubble on top that has not been addressed yet. Mike knows about it, but wanted the owner to drive up to MT to drop it off.

Please post pics when you get it dialed. I'm still creating the layout of my electronics box (DC to DC from alternator, two batteries, inverter/shore, solar, Pico simarine monitor, etc) before I take the plunge.... I was leaning towards drilling the truck bed personally.

I was going to drill the bed also. I googled those wire glands, and they look pretty wide. Very curious to see them

I recently spent 5 nights with 3 adults in the mid size version. We were crowded. We made it work, but I would highly not recommend that for a long term plan. Two adults and two kids up top is not a good recipe. We even alternated feet and head positions to better fit and it was too much by the end.

If I were you I would concentrate a better solution in the bed or, if comfortable with a ground tent, the oz tents are super easy to set up and will attach to an awning for a more uniform setup.

Will do. I will try to get some after work today.

I went with two flexible 100W renogy solar panels on the roof of the go fast held down with VHB tape. Panels are connected in parallel using mc4 connectors and into the camper through the two holes I drilled using wire glands. Just got finished putting 7,000 miles on the truck with this setup and have had no issues other than the cheap wire chase I used on the underside of the camper to hide the wires a bit (planning to replace this with VHB clips). The solar charges a Goal Zero Yeti 1000 that currently runs a Dometic CFX50. I will also be adding interior lights, usb, and potentially some exterior lights to the rear, but haven't gotten around to that yet.

Nice! Can't wait to see the pictures. I'm running the single 100w Renogy panel right now to charge my Goal Zero Yeti 1000 to run my fridge. Did you get the Goal Zero Solar Charging Optimization Module or just use the standard input?
