I'll do that in about 2 weeks. Will be interesting to see the difference.

We may pass each other on the road. In Dawson now. Heading on the top of the world tomorrow.

Indeed, please report back. If the Dempster is actually much better I may have to make another trip north!

Be sure to stop by the Sourdough Saloon and take the shot with the toe. There’s also a place that puts dog balls in a shot, can’t remember the name though because I was absolutely blasted by the time I got there.

    Hey all, question:

I’m adding our camper to our auto insurance, and the underwriters want to see a serial number stamped or etched somewhere on the GFC. Having never undertaken anything like that before, I’m at a loss for ideas. I’m just going to use our GFC order number, but I’m interested in the easiest, permanent way to add it to the camper. Ideas?

Maybe a dog tag glued/riveted to the frame?? I would think they could give you some ideas.

One of my trailers doesn’t have an etched or stamped serial number.. it’s just a sticker on the tongue.

Out of curiosity, do you know what it will add to your insurance cost by adding the gfc?

I added 30k in value to my truck and it went up ~$400/yr. i didn’t think that was too awful considering 30k is basically the value of the whole truck without the camper. Be curious to know if others are insuring their campers.

I told State Farm I wanted to add about $10,000 in value to the truck (GFC + full suspension upgrade). I haven’t seen it in writing, but they told me over the phone that it would add about $5 or $10 a month to my policy.

These eggs bennie ARE amazing. The toe wasn't bad as long as you don't stare at it. But the "Kabooms" and car fire across the visitor's center lot at 4am where I was sleeping wasn't cool

Just put my name in line today for the camper! Expecting about a 1.5 year wait. In meantime, I will read all these pages and be planning some upgrades and a drawer system!

My insurance said the GFC was covered under something along the lines of "work caps and shells". I dont remember the exact wording but it didn't add anything to my payments and is completely covered.

Looks great - are you in LA (lower Alabama)? If so, I'd love to see your build in person.

How is everyone liking their campers now that they have had them for a little while?
