Awesome. I was debating going for a Saturday install, but idk what the weather is gonna be like on the way up and wanted to give myself plenty of time to make it up there. The drive home is gonna be quite the hustle to make it back in time for work on Tuesday haha.

My install is the same week in February (26th)!

@thebaker Very cool! I just got a camera that's magnetic, which seems to work pretty well. (Only drawback is having to take it off and on each time so it won't get stolen / so I can charge it.)

So one red and one white rock light per door? I’m trying to run some RGBW led strips along each door and the back so I have white, orange, and red via a remote control. But I’m sure it’ll be too complicated and I’ll switch to something much simpler… Haha

If I were you I would buy a National Luna dual function light. These are killer!

I have looked into those as well. If I could turn them all on from just one button rather than individually I’d be sold.

I have built out many lightning systems. While a remote is convenient, I prefer to have a switch at the light for any task light. I personally don’t want to keep a remote on me…always doing stupid shit like jumping in the water without emptying my pockets lol. I mean I figure I gotta lift the gull wing doors, might as well hit a button without searching for a remote. Over the years, I have whittled down my gear, purchased better/more robust systems. Remember, less is more and convenience can drive a man mad, when you remote needs batteries lol

I do have area lights that run off my SPOD Bantam that I use an app to launch. Remember, the main thing is to get equipment that won’t fail.

Now if you the kinda guy that likes to kick back, jam out to some music, lay out and DJ a light show….then everything I said above can be tossed out.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I plan to leave the remote attached to the bed near the tailgate with Velcro fastener material and only take it with me when I’m going up into the tent. The remote was the only option I could come up with that would provide me with the three colors I wanted without multiple switches upstairs and downstairs.

Even though I plan to run RGBW to get the orange and red options, I’m definitely not the type to run other colors with music blaring haha

I’m sure you’re right and I’ll end up wishing I would have went with something simpler, but it’ll be a fun project that should be cheaper than the kits out there if it all works out.

Why'd you pick Ironman over Decked?

It was cheaper, lighter, and did not block the cubby holes on both sides and for me, I like having equal sized drawers on both sides rather than one large one and one small one…. Just an atheistic thing for me….. I honestly would run either one anytime

Great, thanks for the info. One thing that's interesting is the interior drawer length of the Ironman is 49" while Decked is something like 57" (LB). That's despite the Decked system being 17" longer overall. Seems like Decked is larger just to fill the space of the bed completely but it isn't reflected in the drawer sizing.

Anyway, still struggling to make a decision. Thanks again.

All good! I'll quit hijacking this GFC thread and make a separate post if I'm looking to get more feedback. Thanks for offering.

Just put the deposit down on a GFC! What's a must do before I pick it up? Obviously sealing the bed. Anything else? Wasn't planning on doing any suspension upgrades at this time. I tend to run pretty lightweight.
