MSRP, plus the $399 dealer fee.

Dealer may have done you a favor.

Your better off with the Inferno. You would want to be caught driving a Periwinkle truck...

Besides sport/performance vehicles some other ones just fit with a manual. Tacomas being "tough" in looks and demeanor are one of them IMO. I like my automatics but I probably would've enjoyed feathering through the gears in my 2001.

Hopped on an airplane yesterday morning to Cleveland and picked this up. Dealer was great to work with (Premier Toyota), and sold it for MSRP. The salesperson picked me up, and got me on the road in about an hour. Also got me an awesome interest rate.

First impressions are great! Really like the way it rides, and I got just over 19 MPG despite going around 80 MPH back to Wisconsin. It was a nice 400 mile trip thanks to the comfortable seats. I was worried about seating position since I'm 6'3", but my proportions must be suited for a Tacoma haha. Fit great, and found a comfortable position rather quickly.

I'll be honest... I was super hesitant spending this much on a vehicle, but I'm thrilled with my decision. After all the hassle I went through, it's awesome to finally have this truck.

Premier Toyota in Amherst, OH has a black Tacoma TRD Pro, and a white 4Runner TRD Pro. They're offering to sell them at MSRP, and if you're in the market, call and ask for Tariq. He really made this an awesome experience, and his whole team was incredible. Really wish I had a dealership like that close by!

The best part of the Pro is that it does not have a sunroof. For me it wasn't worth spending an extra $10,000.00 to have the sunroof deleted. I sat in a pro on Saturday and loved the headroom. This is the best year to get a Pro. No sunroof, no snorkel, and the cavalry blue will be much better than the next years VooDoo blue.

Congrats! Their black TRD Pro kept coming up when I'd search for a manual tacoma near me lol. They've had a black Pro for a while (maybe the same one, maybe they keep getting new ones).

EDIT: On a side note, dealerships can really shoot themselves in the foot. I went into my local one in January asking if they would place an order or an allocation request for the specific one I was looking for (manual/premium/tech) and he was sure he could just get one on dealer trade. He said they may even get one themselves!

Fast forward to the end of March and we've been communicating the WHOLE time -- I kept sending him ones that'd pop up on the inventory search site and he'd say that he either couldn't get them or they were already allocated to someone. I believe that, no reason to lie. But still... doesn't change the fact that I came in initially asking to have it ordered (because I KNEW they wouldn't be able to just happen to get one) and they dicked around for 2.5 months. He finally told me he didn't think he could get one. Said it'd be 4 months out to order one. Ended up finding one on a lot at a higher volume dealer and buying it. I really wanted to keep my dollars local and support my local dealership but damn.... had he actually requested one in January when I first went in, I would have!

Sorry -- rant over. The title of the thread is really what caught my attention lol.

I probably shouldn't have parked outside my office window... Going to make for a very unproductive afternoon if I keep looking outside. Is it 4:30 yet?!

I know what you mean! I park right where our parking lot camera points, so I can look up at the camera monitor and see my truck all day... makes it hard to keep working some days!

I hope this doesn't happen to me. I put a down payment on one and was given a pre-build VIN number. It was ordered 4/2018. shows manufacture plant as Texas, shows all of the options ( chrome step bar? ugh ) but it doesn't show the selling dealer or preferred dealer. The saleslady said it'll start build in May and should be at the dealership around the middle of June. Should I be worried? I was given this VIN and all. I have a ton of emails referencing this truck with this VIN.

    Congrats on the new truck.

If you have the VIN, you should be OK. The only thing that could happen is if they sell it out from under you.... but that's just bad business....

That wouldn’t be unheard of in the world of car sales.
