Also has anyone done a actual retrofit on this truck yet?

You are coming from a Diesel High Country 2500HD to a Tacoma. You want a lift, hood scoop, and JBL. It sounds like you settle for nothing but the very best. This is not an attack, simply an observation.

Buy the Pro or I imagine you'll talk yourself into trading whatever else you are about to bu in a year and will lose more on it than if you just bought the Pro and was done with it, knowing that there's nothing at all higher than that model that can come out and make you want it.

Then you can focus on mods. I've removed a bunch of panels on this truck already, they have all gone back in nice and neat without clip breaks and no rattles. I'd suggest not doing it in 5 years, or during the coldest days of the year, but JBL, while not bad sounding, isn't going to sound like a Focal system or whatever premium setup you are considering. And, considering your previous posts, you'll end up with an aftermarket head unit anyways, negating the benefits of the JBL.

If your going to trade trucks in every year why waste money on mods? Put the cash into the house....just a thought carry on.

This is correct. I found myself always regretting not getting the little extras I always wanted when purchasing a vehicle. I like having a keyless entry sunroof all that stuff my 06 lexus had that tech and they are just now getting it into a tacoma.
The pro is a nice truck. But Its not something I am really looking into. I just want the looks of my 2011 that I had with all the modern conveniences.

Yup, don't buy a Chrysler product. Lesson learned. I will say out of all my rigs that dodge rode like a Cadillac. Best riding truck Ive ever been in.

This is why I am trading my truck in for more down payment, I am just using a little extra for some stuff to the truck to keep me happy with it.

Not true Smitty, not true. I never have to floor mine to get it going and if I do floor it then it gets me going a hell of a lot quicker than I need it to.

I ordered one of these for my right foot. It's really helped to increase throttle response

Then why don't you sell it and move on? If you can't afford to get a job instead of sitting on the internet posting crap all day.

Picked up my limited last night. I was pretty satisfied with the deal. I forgot how smooth everything was on a non heavy duty truck. put a 100 miles on it already and the fuel mileage is defiantly a plus. The taco was a smart buy especially with my house purchase I don't have to worry about putting money into besides the extras I want.

In a couple weeks I'm getting the predator strike force package and 285/70/17 Toyo R/T maybe 285/75/17 since the r/t runs abit smaller then most tires. Not sure on wheels maybe novakane or xd addicts or level 8 bully

smitty99 - Lets see I get >28 IMP MPG on the highway and >24 IMP MPG on the city which is about what I used to get in a 1970 VW Beetle back in the day. Truck rides great, easy to park and well built. What the hell is there not to like? BTW I seldom need to punch the gas but when I do I have all the action I need.

Every time I visit this place you might wonder how Toyota stays in business, then I go out and drive my truck and I know why right away.

    Take Care

depending on the tire the 285 might not fit.
Some have them fit others dont, depends on the blocks of the tread.

Your idea of a sledge hammer sounds worse than cutting the cab mount.
When you cut the cab mount you are only removing that one spot and you can re-brace it with a new plate. Smashing it out of the way with a hammer might transfer that force to other parts of it like the welds where its attached to the main frame, deform the metal and cause weak spots where its supposed to be a lot stronger. I'm not fond of cutting a part of the frame, but I think cutting the cab mount would be safer than smashing it to shit with a hammer to get the space you want.

That's like you have a door that's slightly too long for the doorway. Do you take a skilsaw or track saw and cut a little off or smash it with a hammer till it fits causing the wood to splinter and mushroom out?

    just ignore smitty.
all he does is complain that the truck is so terrible but he won't get rid of it.
Seems like he feels because he spent around $42K on the truck it should ride and drive like a Rolls Royce Phantom.
I get there's problems like the rear diff but really give it a break, makes it sound like the truck is the worst vehicle ever made.

A pro is exactly what you want. You don't need the JBL, just upgrade the speakers yourself.

That seems like a minor worry. I'm going to be putting in my own system which is why I went pro, though I have had a soft spot for Clarion products since I was young.

    Clarion makes some nice products.
I've always been more into JL audio though.

But for the OP, audio is a pretty bad reason to choose a limited over a Pro.
I think the pro is ridiculously over priced but from what you want it would probably be the best choice to go with.

The JBL system isn't even all that great. I could put together a way better sounding system for way less than what toyota charges for the JBL system.
