Going from 265/70/17 to 285s will I need another alignment?

    Today I went to a tire shop and threw on 2 285/70/17s upfront so I could see if they would rub, no rubbing anywhere, tested in reverse and turning hard. I loved the look but noticed that i had some positive camber on them. Tires looked like they were leaning, I wish I took a picture but would an alignment fix that? Currently have 5100s, 887s, SPC UCAs and I’m thinking about jumping to 285s now. With my 265s tires look straight and truck was aligned when lifted recently.

    Tacomas naturally have positive camber, and its exaggerated when lifted. The focus on alignments with 285's is caster so that the tires don't rub. So camber is often sacrificed to get the highest caster.

    I would 100% recommend an alignment anyway, its a big expense to buy tires, and 120$ goes a long way to protect them.

    Ok so camber is normal? I’m not mechanically inclined and am new to modding trucks so I wasn’t sure. I’m just afraid of premature tire wear should it still have camber after an alignment?

    Yep, trucks usually have positive camber, and if they were to zero it to straight it would hurt the caster and usually results in worse rubbing.

    gas and oils
    you can get everything in spec, at least if you have a competent person turning the cams. Positive camber will create wear.
