Correct me if im wrong but i thought it kept your clearence the same instead of raising it like a 3 inch would.

My buddy loves his 6 inch lift - I don't know which one it is. It's true that the 6 inch doesn't increase clearance at the IFS skid like a suspension lift does, but it greatly increases the break over , approach, and departure angles. The best, really only, way to improve clearance is to put on bigger tires - which can be done with no lift at all.

OP, it sounds like you have plenty of experience with suspension lifts. For those with less experience, I'd suggest don't - but for you, I say go for it! The BDS lifts seem to be really well built, and I'm sure there are others. Like a suspension lift, do it right.

And of course, post pics when it's on!!!

My only advise is no block out back. Just get a custom leaf pack

Yea Im a fan of the 6 inch i think it looks bad ass too. I dont rock crawl either I might take it camping or something like that. I have a 2016 with a 6 inch lift and im pretty sure all the stuff you add to it might add 100 pounds or less, they forget you are taking stuff off too not just adding more stuff. you add real weight with tires the ones I run are weighing in at 69 pounds a piece. i get 15.3 MPG on the freeway and I am ok with that. Do what you think looks good. you will get alot of haters on the 6 inch here. I have never seen any of these type of lit kits where I am from, not until I got to CA and you have all the pre runner dudes here wanting to be TRD OR on a budget ha ha. Like the others said post Pics when its done.

I have a stage 1 Pro Comp and I love it (Other then the shitty ride quality) I am going to be stepping up to coil overs and hopefully figure out what I should do in the rear (I want to get away from block and AAL) Does anyone know the best way to achieve 6in in the rear without blocks? I do not have much knowledge when it comes to lifted trucks

You can get a custom leaf pack in the rear to provide lift. Not positive from who though.

Does anyone know the cost associated with a custom leaf pack? I also want to make sure it does not sag. I take my tacoma a lot out camping and plan to camp out the back. Any good reputable brands anyone can think of?

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Guys, guys, guys, OP is an adult. He can choose to ruin his toys (pun intended) now and later post about what it's gonna take to repair his frame when he cuts off the terribad lift. What would we do for entertainment if not enjoy these kinds of posts?

Ok. No pun intended. But this isnt my first rodeo. If i choose to cut my truck then its on me right? An if i ever want to replace that crossmember with a lil filler rod i will weld it back in. But unfortunately my old man has ran into a bit of financial trouble. So im paying his mortgage and mine. So i wont be changing anything in the next little bit. So dont worry i wont be destroying my truck with a 6inch lift right this moment. I will continue to replace cv boots because of my 3inch lift for now. But hey im use to it. 3inch lifts are so much better. Wish i had not of cut my last three trucks cab mounts now. Seems as if you cut anything on your truck it will explode. Ha.

Didn't look at my pictures, eh?

I have 20,000mi on a 3" Icon lift and factory CV's over 70,000mi. Plenty of wheeling on these axles.

    All gud man.

Did you look into moving the cv boot, I don't know specifics but I believe some people were having issues with them rubbing from a lift. Someone who knows can maybe chime in and provide some more insight. I don't know if this is your issue but maybe this would help.

Yea. Thats cool. I installed icon on my last 2 trucks. I really like icon personally. An my cvs were great on my fj with a 3inch lift and not so much on the taco i had icon on. I think it has to do with alignment and varys from truck to truck. I have tried diff drops with and without. An still fins rub. My point being. I dont think it has anyrhing to do with what lift you have or how well it was installed. Some cvs are gonna rub some wont.

Differential drops on second gens are junk unless it's full subframe. 1st gens benefit fromthem.

I have to agree. I have not seen any difference with or with out them on a 2nd gen taco. I totally agree with ur statement. Only reason im running one now is it came with my ome kit. I didnt pay extra for it so i put it on there. If i had to pay for one i wouldnt waste my money.
