Going from supercharger to NA flash?

    05 Trd sport supercharged
    Hi my father in law has a 05 4.0 trd sport auto with a dealer installed supercharger the engine over heated and is being replaced by him with a non supercharged 4.0 will he need to flash ecm or change anything? Can he go from supercharged to natural with his ecm? Thank you in advanced

    Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
    You can’t go that direction. He must find another N/A ECU. The Cal ID on that ECU is changed.

    FWIW, my supercharger belt tensioner broke and had to drive over 100 miles N/A on a SC tune. It drove just fine just no whiney noise. Don't know that I would go WOT though.

    If you only replace the engine because over heating with engine non supercharged, you don't need to flash ecu except if you downgrade from supercharged to n/a you need to change the stock ecu.

    Why not just swap the supercharger and supporting parts to the replacement engine?
