At least get the 5.0, so you can bolt a Whipple on top. :burnrubber: I don't have much confidence in Ford's 10 speed auto though. The transmission was slipping on the last stx 5.0 I test drove. :notsure:

Trusted Toyota Shops are hard to find. All of the Great ones are not reasonable in their pricing, either. All I wanted was the ECGS bushing installed, and they refused because it was a non-OEM part, even though it was superior.

Look at the dyno sheets for the hp/tq you get for 10k with a 5.0 Whipple. Compare that to a 10k supercharger on a 3.5 Tacoma.

Those "wee" lil Tacomas from back in the day look like a lot of fun...in our younger years, fer shur! lol

I think a V8 is more useful for other things other than stoplight rituals one shakes your head at. (No offense to anyone)

I've thought about what I would tow (if I ever get around to renting a trailer) but it's not a priority.

At the end of the day, Get what you want.

I got an old GMT400 back into service last year because I needed something to do some serious grunt work. The interior space of the 37 year old truck isn't really much more than my Taco, its just the way that it's laid out that makes it much more comfortable for me to drive, even with the vinyl bench seat.

If the full size truck works for your situation, go for it and never look back.

I've stopped looking at the F150 due to layoffs at work. Sad sad day...
