    The upper arm?

Could you throw a red circle around where you're taking about the wrap around? Sorry I'm a welding noob. I think I see what you're talking about but I'm not 100% sure.

Not on my phone, sorry, I'm at work. So where the bushings are on the LCAS and UCAs. The red pieces. Those tubes that the bushings themselves go into....the LCA top metal piece and bottom metal piece should extend up and around the bushing tube for more strength. The cheapo garage fab kits never do that and many people have had welds crack at that point or even completely fail

Where the empty circles / rubes are, right? You're saying the fab work should encompass that*

Here's the kit I'll be putting on my truck someday soon (sitting in my garage), notice how the bushing sleeves have gussets welded connecting the sleeves and the LCA together and the UCA uniball cups have gusseting.

Go with a name brand kit. If you are on a budget, wait for a used kit to come up!

Thanks, that's what I thought but I just wanted to be sure.

I wish it wasn't so, but thanks for keeping an eye out for us noobs. Was I correct in finding "my" kit in the ZZR link I posted?

:facepalm:gusseting is the extra tabs of metal over the joints, right? The only welding I've ever done has been under a microscope.

Looks like it. I used to hang out at his house while waiting for work to get done, his welding is crap, watching him make his kits makes my brain hurt. His internal gusseting consists of grabbing random pieces of metal and welding them at whatever angle they will fit.

Yes, gusseting is basically welding extra metal onto joints to strengthen

Yea I lucked out on my kit, a dude on here that was local bought a brand new Camburg kit with secondary shock mounts...ended up going a different route for his truck, I offered $2400 and pick up, he told me to bring cash. Everything was still wrapped and in the box. Deals like that don't happen every day, but they do happen.

I'm thinking I'll buy the tools, and repair the factory LCA. I'm not saying I'm going to start cranking out LT kits, but learning to weld is on my agenda for sure. I figure if I can't swap the bushing then I probably need to readjust my perspective.

Wait wait wait, I sped read your OP lol.

You just need to replace a bushing? Bro, that's a pretty easy thing to do youself. If you've got a free weekend and a spare car, just start taking your front suspension apart and have TW handy, there are many walk through on here of how to take everything off and on. It took me about 2 days to figure out how to Tae off my mid travel suspension and put everything back to stock on my own...now I could probably do it in half a day.

*hint* get yourself an electric impact wrench lol

The down side is: no long travel
The up side is: I get to go tool shopping.

Will the Sawzall bushing extraction remove too much metal from the LCA?
