Hey guys, I just bought a new 2012 Tacoma 4x4 TRD DCSB. I've hit the initial break-in period (500 miles) now I'm ready to see what it can do off-road. There's a place called Carnagie in Livermore, CA. They specialize in off-road bikes and ATV's but they have a SMALL section for 4x4 trucks. Is there anything I should be worried about? I'm really new to this and maybe some quick pointers would help out. The car is BONE stock but with the TRD package (shocks etc..)

well first, its a truck not a car. and no lift and stock tires? your not gonna get much accomplished. watch out for large rocks. dont bust the oil pan or transmission pan and dont ruin your tires.

The little section they have for trucks really is just a mud pit and small bumps here and there. I'm not gonna floor it and I'm gonna be very cautious (being that it's a brand new truck lol). Do I need to worry about getting stuck? I see all these videos of trucks getting stuck but honestly I really don't think the terrain is gonna be that bad.

Take your time. Don't be afraid to get out and pick your line, without lift and tires it's important that you choose well, getting stuck is nothing to worry about unless your alone. Just keep in mind to avoid hitting your rear diff, fuel tank, oil pan, and transmission pan. Make sure to enjoy yourself, this is a great hobby.

When you go to switch from 4hi back into 2wd let your foot off the gas so there's no load on the drive line.

Do you have a build thread. I want pics of someones actual 2012 interior instead of the ones from Toyota.

Great pics, I really like 2012 model now....

Uhm I have some pics of my interior. Look at the new member's page. If not, I can go take some more pics. You thinking about getting one or something?
