Steel shafts give you a little more control of the ball. Graphite is the "latest and greatest" but it also adds additional factors to your swing like flex and speed...which makes the game harder on beginner players.

Yeah, I have been golfing for quite a few years now and I don't see myself ever going graphite in my irons. Too much flex... It is mainly helpful for like seniors women and younger kids who just need a little extra clubhead speed...

I'm hitting a set of Ping i3's that my Grandfather gave me to take lessons with. I carry irons 3-9, a 3 wood, 7 wood and got a new TaylorMade Burner '09 driver not too long ago. The driver has increased my distance and accuracy dramatically. Once I learned to hit it, it was like night and day compared to what I was hitting before! I want to test out some TaylorMade irons now :D

I love golf. Handicap is a 10.5. I play about twice every 3 weeks is all.

If you want to "play" in the corporate world then you got to look the part. I have wasted tons of money on golf equipment and truly believe that "it's the Indian and not the arrow". That being said you "look" like you know what you are doing with Pings. My bag is and OGIO. I got a new Ping K15 replacing my Titleist 905T driver which I taking out for the first time tomorrow. I have Ping Raptor fairway woods, Taylormade hybrid rescue 19 degree, Ping G5 irons, Titleist Volkey sand and lob wedges, and a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter. You will add and subtract different clubs from different manufactures as you get better and more comfortable.

Now it's hard to believe paying $300 for a stupid putter but for me I've knocked off about 3 strokes a game.

One more suggestion. If you want to play REAL golf in corporate tournaments you need to buck up and pay $25 to join your local PGA. Any clubhouse will tell you how. Get a handicap established and BE HONEST. No one is hated more on a golf course than a cheater.

Most important, Don't believe what I say about looking good and have fun! Do I kick my bosses butt tomorrow or hold back?

So are you saying that if you don't hit Ping you don't belong in the corporate world? I know plenty of people who don't hit Ping and are doing pretty well for themselves... I'm not saying stay away from Ping, but it is nowhere near your only option. All club manufacturers make some great clubs anymore, we need to know what kind of golfer you are though first to give actual suggestions though. I'm just gonna say that I don't think look is everything. I had a guy with Persimmon woods walk all over me a couple years ago... I can very much appreciate his talent. What do I know though, you don't see me out there teeing it up on the PGA Tour either.

I have NIKE woods and irons, and I play like Tiger Woods now... not before. Lol. The reality is that I couldn't even caddy for him.

Well since everyone is stating their handicap, I was about a 9 when I was playing 4 times a week on my high school team, I haven't played much in the last few years, but I did shoot an 84 my last time out. :)

My handicap is so up and down, probably because I play 3 times a week for a month than take an entire month off. Last time I played I shot a 69, but that was a few weeks ago. The next time I play it will probably be in the high 70's.

I play Nike blades which I have no business playing. Although after playing with these clubs for years I can tell you I know a split second after contact wwithout looking up whether I made solid contact or not and direction ball is travelling off of face. These clubs took me from slice to draw. The funny thing is I can't go left to right now to save my life.

My Irons are Callaway X-22s. Driver is a Taylormade R9, Taylormade 3Wood, and Taylormade Rescue Hybrid. Putter is also Taylormade. Wedges are Clevelands.

In other words.. Callaway, Taylormade are top companies. Ping is another top choice.

If you have any questions at all shoot me a PM.. I'm a golf pro and can try to help you out.. I'm a callaway guy but i'm a staff player with them so nothing else is really allowed in there..

Best advice I can give you is get fit for them... it is the most overlooked thing, but can be a world of difference.. Also, don't be afraid to go to a course and try to hit some there.. Prices are usually no more at courses, and you will get more personal attention, not to mention you can see the ball fly rather than just seeing what a computer says it will do

Cover King Seat Covers, WeatherTech Liners, PopNLock, storage bin locks, N-Fab Step bars, and G4 Elite Tonneau cover.
Get fitted by a pro and make your decision based on that. Don't just go into a golf store and pick a set of irons based on price or looks. Get some advice from a pro.

I play Nike Irons, Taylormade woods and Callaway balls. I alternate between an old Ping Anser putter and a new Taylormade putter.
