Good amp for 2 10's HELP

Hello everybody this is my first post so don't get mad if i do anything wrong.

I recently purchased 2 pioneer shallow mount 10" subs and i am having trouble finding an amp and i don't know what else to get!! (wiring, capacitor, etc)

I am wondering if anyone has bought this box and knows the dimensions of the center cutout (where i want to put my amp). And if someone can recommend an amp that would put out 300 watts rms x2 and still have a peak output of over 2000 watts.

If you see this thread soon and know this setup will suck please tell me and i can cancel the subs ordering. It would be nice to be reasurred that this will sound good for the $.

This is my first system (and truck) so i don't know much about car audio, When I bought the car it had a pioneer avh 3200-dvd double din head unit in it and morel maximo 6 1/2 speakers no amp
Trying to keep the price low (amp under $250)

 

Don't get the pioneer shallow mounts... they sound horrible. Pioneer makes incredible head units and processors, but their speakers and amps are all very entry level and sort of below standard. Anything that has a max of 1200w and and RMS of only 300 means something is just not right. That's way too much of a difference. I guarantee if you put 1200w to one of those subs, is will fry so quick your truck will fill up with smoke. I know this because I've done it... more than once. Especially for a retail of $200 each thats insane.

If your on a budget, get 2 JL Audio 10w1v2-4 subs. Price is just over $100 each. They are night/day compared to pioneer and they are not a shallow mount sub either so sound quality is drastically increased! JL is like top of line compared to Pioneer. I have their stealthbox for our trucks which is a smaller box and has those exact subs... ask anyone who has been in my truck, its worth every penny. Putting them in a larger box like the one your getting will make it even better. They will fit fine no problem.

As far as an amp... none of the ones you listed are very good to be honest. If you get the pioneer subs just get a pioneer amp to match. Way easier that way and keeps it simple. I'd recommend their GM-5500T, but that's only if your stuck with the pioneer subs. I know the power rating is lower than the subs, but trust me from experience and over 7 years of installing and designing systems, that amp is way more than enough for those subs. Pioneers ratings are not true.

Now if you get the JL's, the a perfect amp for those is their JX360/2. It is a lower model amp and is a class a/b instead of D, but for a budget system, this entry level setup will still blow your pioneer setup away. If you can find it for a good price and its affordable, their XD300/1 is way better than the JX series. It is lower wattage but is a class D subwoofer specific amp. If you wire the subs correctly, you will be at 2ohms, which means the XD amp will push out 150w RMS per sub. Those subs have a power rating of 75w minimum and 300w max each. So this is perfect.

I get JL audio at just above cost and willing to ship. I can save you a lot of money and get you a way better system. Cancel your Pioneer order and send me a PM. I have the same box and went with a rockford fosgate p500-2 amp and went with the kicker 10cvr dual voice coil. Added the perfect amount of base but I also replaced all the door speakers with infinity kappa's. As far as mounting the amp I mounted mine under the passenger seat.
