good amp ground l

Hi all.
I have installed a 600 watts pioneer amp under my driver seat. And used a seat bolt as the location for my ground. Is this a good location for my ground. ?

 

In a word, yes. I used the same ground point for under-seat subs in the 1st Gen I used to own and my current 2nd Gen. Never had any problems with either one.

Therefore this is not a factor contributing to my amp switching off if I have it bridged and volumes turned to max.
I un bridge the speaker and now it plays at max volume.... but still appears to turn off after a couple minutes of playing.
What do you think am doing wrong?

 

The ground shouldn't be an issue, assuming the connection is good (i.e., metal-to-metal, tight, etc).

Obviously, I'm not familiar with the specifics of your setup but, assuming your system has some kind of thermal protection, running at "max volume" could cause that to trip.

 

Make sure the ohms (impedance) of your speakers matches up with the amp when bridged
