I bought a very clean 99 xtra cab 4wd manual with 190k in phoenix less than 6 months ago and paid several thousand less than that.

 

Go for it. You can start modding right away
Internet strangers are the best for advice.

Its not a 4x4 …make sure there are maintenance records too. Wait- is this your truck you are selling?

Forget the naysayers. They're hard to find in good condition and you can search for months for that deal you may never find. Congratulations on your new toy and take good care of her!

 

Don't worry. Welcome to the pre-runner family lol! 10k is not bad in today's market. Especially for a classic and well maintained Taco

 

As an owner and restorer of classic cars I have learned its only worth what you are willing to pay for it.
My concern would be the extreme high miles at that price provided everything else about the truck is first rate.
I personally think used Tacomas are way overpriced. When I was looking for one in 2017 to restore. I wound up buying a new one to modify.
When looking at older cars I have a price in my head that the vehicle is worth. I then look at what I would be doing to it and factor that in. More times than not I pass and continue looking. Sooner or later the right project comes along. I'm more patient than most people. The 65 Galaxie I recently sold I paid $1500 for it and put $12000 in it. I drove it for several years and got $21000.
What will you get when you sell that Tacoma?

LOL. Bought my 04 with 80k mi for 8 grand a couple months ago. Not US based though, therefore the price difference. Not as valued truck as in the US.

 

If you can fix it yourself, your choices multiply greatly.
