    Greetings from the swamps, I just acquired a 2019 Tacoma SR5 from CarMax and all they furnished is what appears to me as a Valet Key. Could anyone tell me how to determine if this truck is remote entry capable?

    Welcome to TW. You should have a key fob. Check with your dealer for new ones.

    Not all tacomas come with fobs. If you bought an SR commonly mislabeled as SR5 at dealers you only have a physical key and no remote unlock/lock functionality and you have to go with aftermarket.

    You can verify your truck is an SR5 by looking to see if it has fender flares or fog lights. if it doesn't have those then you have an SR.

    But if your truck is an SR don't worry! there's several kits out there (such as N2Designs) that will give you the keyless entry functionality.

    I ran the vin through Toyota's Vin ID site and it lists the Grade as SR5. Therefore I feel sure it is not a clone or knock off.
