it might be a good deal but no way am I going to spend that much money on a vehicle with that many miles. I just bought a new corolla because it was only about 5 grand more for a new one opposed to a used one with 40,000 to 50,000 miles.

Hey hey, I grew up in Thousand Oaks! The truck appears to be very clean and in good condition. Being new and in SoCal, there's not going to be any frame rust. That's a fair price IMO.

I hear ya on the price. But its hard to find Tacomas that are not over priced. Especially in California.

I could get cheaper pricing with Frontier, but damnit.. I cant love it as much

Looks pretty clean from the pics. Almost looks like it's got maybe a spacer or something up front since the front appears to sit higher than the rear. Have you gone to see it in person yet? I'd buy it!

Just for fun ask them to show you the bed liner, all I see is the regular bed.

It is the regular bed. LoL Just goes to show whomever wrote the description has no idea what the truck is.

Do you need 4x4? Is a Double cab setup mandatory for your needs? Do you need a V6? Are you going to modify it? Will you need to tow? Does it have to be 2nd gen?

Reason I'm asking is that you're not that far away from a brand new 3rd gen SR Access Cab 4x4.

To me, $23k for 100k mile truck doesn't sound like a good deal.

$25k for a brand new truck is more like it - just gotta sacrifice not having some extra features.

Good points. Ive been back and forth about the options .

Must be crew cab . Got two kids
I want 4x4 since I go camping but not really rock climbing. More unpaved roads then anything. Plus I'd like the idea of having it for a pismo beach type situation.

I do intend to tow as well. I want to get a small trailer for house work.

I dont necessarily need the TRD package but I like the optional bed outlet and looks ... Which I'm sure can be added or modified.

I dont envision myself doing a lot of mods really. I want a nice weekend truck for camping and house work.

Oh, and as far as generations, I like the look a little better than the 1st. Third generation is probably out of my price range

You're not that far away from a brand new SR5, and if you finance you will get a better rate on new. If you aren't looking for a MT, you should really consider a new SR5 IMHO. The TRD is nice, but honestly there isn't much of an upgrade besides some cosmetic stuff and minor suspension components. I went TRD because the MT was a requirement. I realize CA prices are crazy compared to the rest of the country, but I find it hard to justify that price. Yeah, at 100k the truck is just getting broken in, but you don't know what kind of miles those were. Unless they are willing to include a really sweet warranty and the truck is pristine I would keep looking.
