Gotcha ...well, options will be limited.

A 3rd gen 4x4 SR Double Cab can be had for under 30K - but you would have to travel out of state to get it. It'll still be cheaper

If you don't off road heavily, I would leave the door open to a TRD Off Road Prerunner. Even though it wont have 4x4, the rear locker in the Off Road edition along with a decent set of tires will help get you through most trails.

Looks good to me - and it looks like it was lifted. I think the price is very fair for that condition on a 4x4.

Don't forget about all the mechincal problems that come on vehicles with high mileage

Personally I wouldn't buy it, but you should see if there's a way you can find out what mechanical parts were replaced on the truck

Looks like a sick truck, but as others have mentioned I'd be a little hesitant paying that much for something with that mileage..

I would buy either of those over the one OP posted.

I sure as shit would not. The one op posted is very clean and "unmolested". The others look clapped out and less reliable.

How exactly can you tell something is clapped out just by looking at pictures? The first one was certainly nice but it wasn't immaculate. For all you know the "one owner" drove it 10 miles up and down a washboard road at 50MPH every day.

My point is the prices on those are more realistic for the mileage and condition. They could all be steaming piles but without seeing them in person you wouldn't know. At face value I think these two are a better deal.

You think that red will be noticeably cooler than black? I wonder. 50k more miles - and bull bars - 2 negatives imho. Course you can ditch the bars.

The price is comparable to what they're going for in my area. I'll have to agree with some of the others though, there's no way I'd pay over $20k for any vehicle with over 100k miles on it, I don't care if it's a Lexus or Escalade.

The thing with a 2nd gen Tacoma, is that a 2013 doesn't really look any different than a 2008, just a different steering wheel and audio system (as far as I can tell). I'd find a low mileage 07-09 and save about $6k.

I paid $3500 more for 70,000 less miles. And my wheels aren't ugly.

Just a comparison since someone mentioned 2wd... A year ago this month I got my 2006 TRD Sport Prerunner long bed. Original owner, ultra clean. All records. 69k miles. It bluebooked around 17k at that time and I paid $16,500. I love it and have camped with it a bunch and did some fireroads around big bear and a few trails in the desert. Wish it had a locker but the limited slip has done me well. To be honest, I wish I had a 4wd but no way am I spending that kinda money on lots of miles. Gonna wait til 3rd gen is more refined and buy new or almost new.

    Good luck.

    Thanks for the advice, everyone.

I'm going to wait it out a little longer and see what else shows up.

I do have to really consider the prerunners, but 4wd is at the top of my wants list
