Nice choice man. 4 year old truck with 104k miles for $23K is a lot. Back on 2009 I bought my 2005 Tacoma with 26K for $21.5K here in Oregon.

If it's a want and not a need right now then be patient. If a 4x4 is what you want then get a 4x4 even if you rarely use it. Better to get it than not and regret it in the future.

    Good luck with your search!

So, I've been considering the advice about thinking about my actual needs and I think I've narrowed down to SR5, 4WD, Crew Cab.

I like the TRD look but the price is way too much. I've found some others below and while the price is near the OP (or slightly higher), the mileage is way lower. I'm sure its in here somewhere, but is the bed outlet reliable or is best to use an inverter? I camp, dont do construction so will be using it randomly. (another thing I came to realize about my wants...lol)

I think that's a good plan. You definitely get more bang for your buck. I can't really comment on the TRD inverter but you may be better off getting a second battery and a better inverter for the SR5. I have never used the TRD inverter but even at 400 watts it isn't much. A deep cycle battery and a 1000 watt inverter isn't that expensive.

Get a honda odyseey for camping and house work. They can fit a full 4 x 8 piece of plywood and haul more stuff than that truck bed can... all enclosed too.

The price is actually so low it makes me wonder if something is wrong with it or if its not actually 4x4. I honestly would not expect the miles to reduce the cost that much.

    Yes It's a good price!!!

I'm a high mileage driver, only cars with low mileage scare me. Highway miles are much easier on a vehicle.

I think that's a great plan. As far as the inverter, it has it's place. I used it a decent amount, but it was mostly for airing up a mattress while camping or using my dremel while working on a project (I used to live in an apartment with no outside power outlet).

My recommendation is do not worry about the inverter and just get a basic one that clips to the battery.

Looks like the owner took good care of the truck.
103,000 miles on a 4 year old truck is a lot considering the average person puts 15,000 miles a year on a vehicle but the second gen tacomas are known to go to 250-300k miles easily without much effort.

    https://www.kbb.com/toyota/tacoma-double-cab/2013/pickup-4d-5-ft/?vehicleid=381676&intent=buy-used&options=5103892|true|5103981|true|5103987|true|5376067|true|7261340|true|7261341|false|5103992|true|5103990|false|6384444|true&mileage=103000&pricetype=retail&condition=good
Kelley blue book says it's fair purchase price is $21,698 for my zip code but Southern California these trucks go for more money.
Test drive it and see if it's worth the asking price or trying to haggle them down a grand or two if they will budge on the price.

Way too much, Last month I bought a 2015 TRD Offroad double cab for $27400.00 with only 21000 miles. That one has a lot of miles in a short time. But what ever you think is a good deal.

The ad was posted a month ago. At $26k firm no wonder. The guy/gal that owns it probably owes more on it that it is worth. I agree with outlaw above and would try offering $20k, but don't expect them to take it.

I just picked up a 2015 same model and extras you are listing. It has 27000 miles for $4000 more than that. Id have a hard time paying over $20000 for a truck with over 100,000 miles. That being said that engine is barely broken in and will last another 150,000 miles with no issues. I drove all over the mountains of California back in the early 90's in a 2 wheel drive Geo Tracker and never got stuck. Flipped it off the side of a cliff ( 20 foot drop )into a creek once. 4 guys rolled it back on its side and I drove it up out of the creek no problem. Maybe look into a used 2nd gen 4 cylinder 4x4. Mine towed a 3000lb camper with no issues and couldnt get it stuck in the mountains of PA if I tried, lol. A decent used one will run you $10000 - $18000 depending on year.

To add another datapoint.... I just traded my '14 ACLB SR5 V6/MT 4x4 in today with 51k miles for $19,500. The dealer already had it sold and I'm guessing he sold it for somewhere between $21.5k and $23K.
