Sounds about right for all the extras you had them add at their "over inflated " prices.
Good luck and enjoy the truck

With all the COVID stuff going on, it seems dealers are not willing to move much on price and tacking on a lot of high margin dealer add ons. Personally I would wait until later in the year, or early 2021 if you could when stock is not so depleted.

Agreed. Buying a new vehicle these days without getting a sweet deal is not a good idea imo. Waiting till the end of the year may get you much better results. Too many layoffs these days and dealers will get more desperate to get rid of their inventory.

In may I bought a 2020 OR with all the packages (accept LED headlights) with an MSRP is $44,690 for $40,000 so about 10% off.

    this and that...
is this a vehicle you need right now or a spur of the moment kinda ordeal? if not, i would stand fast for a bit. with all these dealers with bone dry inventory, and the publics willingness to buy, it doesnt really leave much room to find a good deal.

Wait it out and negotiate down, fuq those dealers and corps. There's no shortage of vehicles, there's a shortage of buyers.

this, unless youre the type who will fixate oni could have done better. Truth is, this could be the new normal. This could be the best it is for a good long time.

    with 21's coming in
aint likely they will discount 21's...................life hasnt gotten that bad yet
dealers would discount IF there was stagnant inventory

this week in this arena they are offering $2000 OVER KBB for ANYthing on wheels
    ( advertised to public )
said it b4 & its true................Used MORE expensive than New !!

    young person.............new truck
by all means get what U want..................only way U will be satisfied / Happy !!

in a trade................. they steal Ur vehicle
has to be wiggle room for them to profit

all the Xtra Factory is icing ( highly marked UP !!)
i wouldnt pay more than $35k OTD
    doesnt sound like much
i take NO prisoners at poker

OP, right now you are at 4.3% off ... no one can make the decision except you, of course! If it were me, I would wait and try to get closer to 10% off. Even if that meant waiting. Not a matter of the money as much as it is the principle. On the other hand, if you want to pick up the truck and get on with your life I am absolutely sure you will enjoy the truck!

My take -- I would hold off. But no one can blame you if you pull the trigger !

Best of luck to you !

This is definitely a tough call to make, because there are a few scenarios that could play out.

    1. You wait it out and inventory starts to pick up. Dealers go back to offering 10% off to make sales. You have to wait a bit, but save a little money in the long run. This also assumes the economy doesn’t rebound and less people are buying.

    2. You wait it out and either inventory doesn’t catch up quickly or dealers feel like they can continue to demand a premium for new vehicles. In this case you wait and end up at the same 4% discount or less. As others have said, this could be the new normal.

    3. You buy now and in 2 months, dealers are offering big discounts to move inventory. You got your truck sooner, but paid more for it.

There other ways it could play out as well and I’m not sure which would be better or worse. No one knows what will happen in the next couple of months. In March and April, people were saying to wait until later in the summer to buy. There would be huge discounts because dealers would be overflowing with inventory they couldn’t sell. Obviously that didn’t happen and now people are paying MSRP for new Tacomas. In the end, it really depends on what you’re comfortable with and what your financial situation is like. Best of luck, OP.
