I think this sums the subject of leasing up well. There are those it either A: Works for or B: Is the best option ultimately.

Maybe the minority fit those but it happens.

My mother leased a Honda CRv a few years ago. Why?

She was suddenly on dialysis and with the cold weather/snow here needed something all wheel drive right now to get to and from the center. Having never driven anything like an SUV in her life she wasn't sure if she would get used to it. She also put 10K miles on in 3 yrs.

Not my preference but a coworker leases..again, drives minimal miles. She is single and lives alone, so if her car is down she has no transportation in her house. It's worth it to her in order to not deal with that situation.

Yes I just kept thinking the other guy was talking about compound interest which really had me thrown. Anyway, I’m sure the OP is long gone enjoying his leased Tacoma!

Nope, still lingering here. Still doing some figuring on paper and deciding what I’ll ultimately do. Watching everyone hash it out on my behalf . I’ve got numbers from the dealer but won’t make any decisions until I see the truck on order when it arrives. Weather is breaking here and I’ll be on two wheels more than 4 until fall. I put 20000 miles on a truck in two and a half years. My goal is to buy my last new vehicle that will last into retirement hopefully in 15 years. Might do it this year, maybe in a couple more. But the Colorado is leaving while the trade/sell value is still there. Used market around here is insane. To find a newer truck with less than 50000 miles on it is $2000 less than new one they are offering me. So maybe I take my equity and wait for the crash !
