    My 2cents.
    People and dogs are similar.
It's not what's in your genes, it how you're raised or handled.
A country song calls it your "raisins".
I gave my kids (3) part of the money for cars. They got jobs and got what they wanted. Great kids.
My wife's kid has always been "given" stuff, cars and money. Never had a full time job for more than 6 months. Only had a couple of jobs. Now 40+. What a pain.

Oh he left a long ways back. He got his confirmation statement and bolted. We are left here with a stain on the bed and wondering if we will get called for a second date.

You are the ultimate decider, but I will help you by weighing in. I am 16 too and I love my Tacoma. It is much older than the brand new one you would get her (2011) but I still think it is a great first car and has not failed me or my dad in the 100,000 or so miles we have had it in the family. If she is passionate about Tacomas, then I would say go for it. If it can spark a new hobby for you and her of working on the truck then I would say there is nothing but benefits for it!

That's awesome. This is a good choice.

    Going back to real simple
    Safety:

one of the safest vehicles on the road IMO. I’m on my 2nd 3rd gen Tacoma as the first one got totaled. Drunk driver hit me head on, EACH at 45mph ish. He was in a kia soul. The front of my truck was crunched into a 2ft. Span. The rest of the truck had some damage, but it was still in the shape of a Tacoma. His kia soul was crushed so much it was small enough to fit into the bed of my truck. I won’t go into detail past that cause it’s still a very gruesome and haunting memory for me, but I’ll say this: if the 3rd gen Tacoma costed 80k for a base model I’d still buy it. Might not be the most fuel efficient or haul the most or have the biggest cab, but if I would’ve bought a teenage girl car… like a Kia soul or an impala… I probably wouldn’t be posting on this thread rn

Very solid vehicle. Frame is a monster and can handle its own. For a new driver, will have to get used to rear wheel drive only and when to use the 4 wheel but in Florida that may not be an issue. Does a little bit of everything very well.

OP probably found the most expensive available lifted Tacoma with 37's and a snorkel for a "first car".
