I have one of these and had to go through airport security...I about freaked out. I went to the restroom and dropped the blade out in the trash. TSA never did question me about the knife...

On thing that I am not crazy about is how little the lock holds the blade open. Does anyone else's do this? Wondering if a little "fix" will work.

Decided to pick up another beater knife after posting some options haha Steel is meh, but will sharpen easy. Flipper action is nice with the bearings and feel in hand is great.

It should fully lock out to keep it open. I would contact kershaw and see what they say about it before modifying it

That is what I was thinking....about the lock.
I can push it to full lock. Seems like it has just a little too much either on the lock or blade.

you can bend the lock tab slightly so it engages better. Just get a hard wood dowel and lay the knife flat, opened on a cutting board or something and tap the tab at the cutout section and it should flex over more. I had to do that with one of my knives has held just fine since...

Big ones are King suspension, SSO bumper w/winch, Pelfreybuilt sliders.
Gerber Gator Folding Knife, Serrated Edge, Clip Point [06079] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004WA4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hx8tCbQB25AX9

Best knife ever. Cheap, but real good quality. Feels very nice in the hand, half serrated (the style which I prefer). Honestly my favorite part about the knife is the grip. It fits in your hand just right, and the rubber prevents slipping out unlike the other solid handles, while still leaving it with a bit of cushion. Maybe I'm nerding out over here, but it's very satisfying to hold. Open or closed.

+1 on the leek for a cheapies beater knife.

Kershaw has great customer service. My dad gave me a leek a while ago and when I got around to cleaning it up the torsion bar was broken.

I sent a quick email and I got 3 new ones for free.

They also sharpen your knives and service them if you send them in.
