If your looking at Select Number air also look at Comfortaire mattress. They were the first company to come out with the programmable air mattress and then one of the engineers left and started Select Number. Comfortaire lets you program from 0-100 in increments of 1 not increments of 5 like Select Number, so you can fine tune your comfort level a little more.

i just bought a new foam mattress after 3 weeks of shopping and laying on beds of all makes. settled on an Englander made Viscopedic Cloud. comes with a 10 year no questions asked warranty and another 10 year prorated. it is a freakin awesome bed. they have a pin core design in the top memory foam that allows heat to dissapate and a bamboo cover which has hypo-alergentic properties.

first you need to determine how much you want to spend on a bed. do you toss and turn when you sleep? spring and latex mattresses tend to send movement through the bed, possible disrupting your sleeping partner. foam beds are the least prone to motion transfer. this was a big selling point for me and my honey.

the best bed for everyone is not the best one for you...take some time and lay on several for 10-15 mins each.

    good luck in your search.

IDK- my wife and I haven't had any issues with snuggling or otherwise. We got a mid level (the 5000 I think) with a nice mattress pad and it makes that middle barrier disappear. The 5000 has an eggcrate type topper and then a little bit of pillow top in addition to the air bladders.

I bought a Tempur Pedic set a few months ago and at first it wasn't the best. Once it got 'broken in' it has been the best thing ever. I sleep like a rock on most nights and my back aches have gone away. I live in San Diego & I get hot and sweaty very easily but have not experienced this with my Tempur Pedic set.
