I am new to the area and need to find a good honest mechanic. My wife and I bought a jeep for her and its older and is carbureted. Its running like hell. It gets from point a to b but Its just doesn't run smooth. On take off its wanting to die on me. Ive change the spark plugs, fuel filter, and just cleaned the carb last weekend. Its running better but not at all where it should be. Any help would be appreciated.

not to internet diagnose but..... what is the year and model of the jeep? when the last time the distributor has been looked at otr attended to? how about the spark plug wires? look at the vacuum hoses for cracks/holes/broken.

unfortunately i am unable to recommend a shop here in town. i do all my own work and have had access to the auto hobby shops every base i have been at.

believe me, im not one to just throw parts at a vehicle...

but you may want to look into replacing the cap and rotor plus the spark plug wires do to age and mileage of the jeep.
