i've gotten the shit beaten out of me many times, but legally
when we'd spar, you could tell if I was a dick to my dad that week.....

the uncle should sign everyone up in a full contact sparring class
then he'd be happy, they'd be out of trouble, and everyone wins!

Yup, instead everyone is worried about some politically correct leftist hippie calling CPS when you give your kid a spanking. Like I said before, kids don't fear the consequences for anything these days.

That's what a lot of kids are missing today. And the reason his other wanna-be gang banger buddies will end up actually being in gangs- no father/grandpa/uncle at home to knock some sense into em

Seeing those kids that have power over their parents because their parents refuse to give them structure is pathetic, let alone seeing those kids grow up (My aunt/uncle are a perfect example)

I started at a MMA-type school (before MMA was cool ) when I was 5... would always spar with my dad from when I was 8ish.
Now, I am confidant I can defend myself in many a situation, and he got to inflict pain on me, weekly!

I'm glad the uncle is their to keep an eye on the kid and whoop the kids ass , I'm sure he won't join any gang now and rob and kill people

Thats a major statement to make, do u have data to back that up? And from my experience in a highly gang affiliated hs most members were b/c theyre fathers are/were or their parents just didnt give a fuck/werent around

 

getting beat for coming home during thirsty thursday, for walking out of the bathroom at the wrong time, for absolutely no reason can lead to angry kids that are trying to lash out at others because of what they went thorough

saying "yee, gettin the cru togetha tonight, gonna go bang some _______" then getting beaten for it is a different animal completely...

To be honest, my rant wasn't to be political, "politically correct hippie" just didn't sound right, it needed something to truly express my opinion, and leftist just flowed.

This. The parents are too fucked out of their mind or non-existent to have a positive influence on the kid.

 

I thought as much. People keep exclaiming why my daughter is so well behaved. I tell them your child could be too if you just actually acted the role of parent instead of best friend.
I grew up not being scared of what the cops would do to me if I fucked up, but what my parents would.

Me too. I learned very quickly what would get me a painful spanking. Then, I did not do those things.

 

Martial arts is a great release. I really think parents should sign their kids up for some sort of martial arts. It helps kids to release that negative energy in a positive controlling way. I started doing BJJ about three years ago and started training mma about a year ago and i noticed a huge difference in my stress levels. My little bro who is 12 and has ADHD started doing bjj around the same time i started and its helped him alot with concentration and stress.
