Hey, I'm new and have been reading here for some time. I'm very anxious because I just settled on a price for a new Tacoma. I can't help but wonder if I did well on the price. 26,800 (tax was about 1900) otd for a 2009 dbl cab 4x4 sr5 black sand pearl. No trade in, and nothing down yet and just put a deposit down and plan to pick it up Wednesday. I would appreciate any feedback, and oh yeah I AM STOKED...!

Pricing will depend on the market you are in. I know dealers are very motivated now.

    Welcome to TW:)

So it's 24,900 pre tax? If so, that is an excellent price.

Thanks for the feedback. I've wanted a Tacoma for years, been driving a 90 Suburban. I realized it was time to get the truck I've been pining after for years. I've spent the last month or so lurking here learning as much as I can. There is a lot of great information here, not to mention some thread (the WTF thread...?) I think, that kept me up the other night laughing my ass off.

    Thanks again.

Absolutely. I'm already thinking about what things I want to do to it (that sounded weird). It's kinda of hard to think of anything else... First thing is to figure out how to post pics. Can't wait to post some!

You might want to shop around some more unless you really have your heart set on the 2009 Tacomas. Getting a 2008 with a few thousand miles on it might save you a butt load of money... well unless money is not that big of a deal to ya. I got my 2008 black tacoma with 21k with a walk out price of 17400K. I then went out and put another thousand on it for the bullit grill, bull bar, side steps, cruise control, intermitten wippers, and fog lights. I have a few more things to buy and ungrade, but it's fun doing it yourself and save a bunch of money. You might want to look into it.

    Hey Trouble..

I've had my heart set on a new Tacoma for quite some time. I've looked at used ones that were in great shape but I always come back to payments. Meaning, if I'm considering payments on an $18,000 used truck, I'd rather just pay more for the piece of mind of being the first owner. I've had used vehicles that I paid little for and got lots of use out of them but there were no payments. For this truck I'd like to use my tlc and upkeep on something new.

    Thanks for the suggestion though...

Sounds like a great price and I agree...I'd rather pay a little more and get a brand new one. Tacomas hold their value so well that most of the time it doesn't make sense to buy anything but new.

Kemosbe - was just trying to clarify if the $26,800 included the tax or not? I'm about to buy the same setup with the long bed this week. Also, what are the specs on your interior?

That price $26,800 is out the door. The tax is a hair under $1900. The specs on the interior are pretty basic with a cd player, Mp3 capable, air, power doors, driverside lumbar support, back up camera. I'm pretty sure it's all that comes standard. The only thing I'm negotiating about is the tow package, which I want very much. They had to go find one like this with so little on it.

Yeah that's about right. Mine was just over $23K so figure in the 4X4 and camera and that's about right, I would think. Of course, mine is two years old but still.
