I've never had any luck with that type of product. But the detailing forum might get you some suggestions.

A professional painter once told me that modern paint jobs from the factory require only a wash and Chamois skin dry. Waxes build up a film that is detrimental. Also about everything out there is a gimmick.
For a scratch I would get some touch up paint from the dealership maybe?

I always thought those color matching waxes were a gimic. Are they a legit thing?

If you can't hang your fingernail in them then you're ok.
Get some fine polishing compound from Meguiar's or 3M.
Put a little on a soft rag and buff in a circular motion till they disappear.
Then wax over top. I've been doing this for years for light scratches.

I'd guess his brother recommends 3k oil changes too, with dino product. None of that silly syn stuff for them!

Betting he didn't explain how it is 'detrimental' either.

Certainly some are. But there are also many excellent products that help both looks and preservation.

If deep enough, agreed that might be the only route outside of some pro work.

If deep enough (down to metal and/or primer) I would use actual paint. Check in to touchup paint,, or the guys that visit dealer lots and do larger jobs, some are pretty price competitive.

A good test for scratches. If you get scratch wet and it disappears, it will polish out, If not it's paint time. If unsure, seek professional detailer.

I haven't personally tried it but I had a fellow tell me he uses kids Crayola Crayons.

Obviously a hide not a fix but they are made of colored wax, cheap and easy to get so maybe worth a try.

Ah yes, the lot that sells the same vehicle over and over, because they make just as much on the interest and repo fines, as they do the sale.
Decades ago, I had a bar customer that had one of these lots down in da hood, and he would share stories about how the same vehicles would be resold over and over. The warranties were a whole other honey pot,,, $7k warranties on $12k Jaguars with chrome.
Not something you'd brag to your family over holiday dinners, but he fit a need,, that's all I will say.
