I have a couple chips on my truck I want to fix, and I'm looking for a better solution than the crap Toyota touch up pen system. Can anyone recommend a place to get a good quality paint that will match my white Tacoma perfectly, and comes in a bottle? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Only one available here is the pen type and it sucks. Comes out all watery with almost no coverage.

walmart carries it. they have the touch up pen with a brush on the other end. my dad has a white taco also... and the white i got (specifically for Toyota vehicles) is pretty darn close, if not exactly, to matching the factory paint.

Did that...still inadequate. I'll check out Walmart. I remember reading on here once about a place on line that has hood stuff, but couldn't find it with search...

It's all in the prep and technique. If you want to do it properly you need to sand the chipped area with a fine grit paper. Use a tooth pick to apply the paint to the chip. One dab will usually fill in the chip. A brush is too much.

This is crucial. Let the paint harden for at least a few days before doing anything. Wet sand with a high grit paper. Polish with a PC 7424 or comparable and wax.

These are just rough instructions on what to do. You can probably find a youtube video or go to autopia.org.

I know how to do it, I just need better quality paint than the Toyota touch up pen.

If it's down to the metal, like mine, and rusting under the surrounding paint, like mine, you will need sandable filling primer, also available from this company which has the matching paint. (they had MGM, but I haven't done mine yet so can't tell you the results)
