I recently killed the radiator in my 4 cyl 2.7L manual transmission and am having a tough time finding a decent replacement. The leaking radiator I pulled out of the truck has a core that measures around 25.5 length (width) x 20.75 height x 1 deep. It's a salvaged vehicle that was rolled in Mexico by a previous owner and it's possible this is a unit they fit into it down there to get it home. It was a very snug fit between the frame rails when I pulled it out, but otherwise seemed to fit perfectly and that could be from the frame rails being slightly tweaked. The bolt holes on the cross-member support lined up, the fan shroud fits correctly to radiator mounts/edges and to the fan on the engine, the hose locations are the same as the stock OEM unit, and there are a pair of plugged ports at the bottom like it was for an automatic transmission with the transmission cooler.

I see quite a few good options for a 22 5/8 tall replacement and while I could settle for losing the inch of ground clearance up front, I'm a little concerned about the bottom of the core hanging down past the fan shroud and that not fitting correctly. I've spent a fair bit of time searching for a reputable replacement and am about ready to cave and just order a misimoto with the plastic reservoir ends that is 22 5/8 tall and add a piece of plastic to the bottom of the fan shroud to cover the gap it will leave.

Does anyone have experience they can share sourcing a reputable 20.75in height replacement for a 3rz-fe M/T 4wd or equivalent with this size radiator? I'd also be happy to spend more for an all-aluminum radiator, but can't find that availabe either. Hoping someone on here has had a similar experience and can share their solution in this thread. Looking for a solid solution as this truck gets daily driven on trails around a 10+ acre property where I rent a cabin and do forestry maintenance as well as working in an old rock quarry 5 days a week.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I installed a All metal radiator from the a mid nineties 4 Runner in fact both the 4Runner 3.4 swap and my 2000 Tacoma use the same radiator .

All I did was swap the outer brackets from the Tacoma radiator and install it. The bottom hose was modified slightly .

I was adding a 1st generation Pick up bumper at the time so installed a piece of flat stock under the bottom tank for protection and support Sitting the radiator in place with a nice layer of silicone caulking even though the 2 surfaces never touched .

About 100,000 miles or so no problems.
