    You want a Auto-loader for around $600?

Just go ahead and nix the idea of an Auto-loader. Get a pump.

    Benelli makes a SuperNova 26" 12ga for around $500-$550

remington 1100, that's what i use for trap/skeet/hunting and it's in your price range.

i got the stock barrel thread for chokes and i have a slug barrel with a rail and sight right on there so even when i swap them it doesn't need to be re-sighted

Ok I have a stoeger model 2000 which is an autoloader that will take 2 3/4" and 3" shells. It is the off brand benelli but it still has the enertia action etc. It shots great and would work for everything you want it to. Mine cost me $300 a few years ago. I think they are like $400 or so. It will do want you want it to. Its not a beauty queen the finish isnt perfect but its dipped camo so Im not worried about it. I have shot the crap out if it and it does a great job. Up to you. Just starting out in the game you dont need $1000 shotgun. Just some food for though.

Stoeger 3500. Made by benelli. I put a box of 3.5s through mine every week during duck season and it hasn't jammed yet. 630 out the door.

Haha im not the only one with a Stoeger although mine is a 2000. Does the 3500 take 2 3/4" shells for skeet because I know I wouldnt want to shoot 3.5" shells for trap/skeet. The model 2000 does :infantry:

I too have a Remington 11-87. Its very nice.

    I have a Browning A5, (its a hand-me-down), and it kicks like a mule.

    The Remington was smooth.

I know you want a semi auto but for the money you can't beat the Benelli Nova.

I have two Benelli's a SBE II and the M4 but I've spent a lot of time behind the Nova and it's a great all purpose gun. Especially if you are just getting into shotguns.

If you are serious about a semi auto I recommend that SBE II it's more money but it's AWESOME.

Also for the money the Saiga is a fun gun but not so much a skeet / trap gun.

Your gonna have a hard time finding an autoloader for that kind of price. I would buy an 870 and spend the rest on shotgun shells. Never heard of anyone that regretted buying an 870

Lots of great guns out there in that price range. My advice stear clear of anything that chambers 3 1/2" shells. The forcing cone is to far away from the 2 3/4" shell to pattern well since thats what you'll be using at a trap/skeet course.

I would really consider looking for a good used shotgun rather than a mass produced black stocked cheap autoloader that won't hold it's value. Nice thing about the shooting sport is that a quality firearm is almost always reselable at nearly the same value.

    +1

I've put somewhere around 30,000 12 gauge rounds downrange and these Remingtons would be good choices.
They come in different configurations so make sure the gun fits YOU.
With a safe, unloaded gun held low, and wearing your typical shooting garb, close your eyes.
Now mount the gun and open both your eyes. The sight plane should be aligned or just slightly high if the gun fits you.

Not a fan of choke tubes. When I want a different choke, I want a different barrel length.

    26" SKEET for skeet shooting
    30" FULL for trap shooting

I like the Beretta system as well.

+2 or +3 on the Remingtons (1100 or 1187). You will not regret it. Probably a lot of them in the used gun racks, as well.

most definitely get the remington 870 express, or the wingmaster (just a fancier model). awesome gun, feels great when you cycle it, its not an auto loader but it is an extremely well manufactured gun. and is definitely fairly cheap as in cali you can pick one up for around $300ish for just a base model 870 express
