I am needing to purchase a set of street only tires for my 2007 tacoma PreRunner 4 dr. I am looking for a blackwall tire that is good with rain, quiet, and with excellent tread wear. Would appreciate all comments and any photos. Thanks,

Everyone will tell you to go with the Michelin defenders, they are good and will give you what you want but are very boring when looking at them.

Have Michelin LTX/Defenders. As long as you expect to keep truck at least 60-75 thousand miles they're an excellent choice.

Another vote for the Michelin Defenders. They’re quieter and ride better than every other tire I’ve tried. I got them at sale at Costco for $690 total with road hazard warranty.

Michelin Defenders here too. Been running them about two years now and they're every bit as great as I'd heard before buying. Lots of snow here this past winter and they did very well.

If you want a good H/T together will be super boring no mater the brand. Want a cool knobby looking tire? You loose the quiet ride and mpg's.

Defender LTX (MS2's) are good, but you will only get 36000 miles out of them before they reach 1/4". Very good driving experience though.

Michelin here. Best tire I have ever owned. Going to buy some Super sports for my ZL1.

True, but I just put some Dynapro AT's on and they are running smoother than my mostly worn out Mich Defenders and they are just as light and give me the same MPG overall. I just put these on and have not driven in rain or snow and they haven't worn yet so we will see how it goes but so far I think its a really good choice for the highway and you get a somewhat cool look.

Michelin is obviously known to be a good choice for street only tire

I will second Michelin. If I have a car thats somewhat sporty, first thing I replace is tires, and I throw on Michelin Pilot Sport AS3s. Probably one of the best grippiest tires you can get. Porsche smashed the Nurburgring record with the 911 GT2RS wearing Michelin's you can buy at your local shop. Not some crazy racing tire... Michelin.

I have Dynapro AT's on my Taco DCLB, and my father has Defender's on his taco. His is definitely smoother and quieter riding. I cant speak for mpg as i have not taken a long enough drive in it.

Well Dynapros are light and almost silent and smooth at least when new. All I do is drive hwy/freeway and these tires are just as good as the mich defenders in that regard. I can't comment on snow and rain traction and would be safe to assume the Defenders will do better but when my Defenders were at about 75% worn all that traction went out the door, to be fair you can say that about any tire though. I personally don't care about wet/snow/ice traction and live in MN, its just not that big of an issue.

Do what you want but Durtracs are a completely different tire, I had them for 2 days and they sucked. Its like driving around with really heavy squishy tires that won't balance, you're mileage will definitely take a hit too, even with the stock size tire.
