Curious what you all think about selling right now. I have a 19 dbcb trd off road 4wd w/ 34k miles and looking at some options for the future. I know prices are up, but are people buying?

I also have a 1st gen tacoma I can use if I sell. May look into tundra in a year or so. If you were to sell right now which outlet or way would you go? Dealership?... Private listing?...

Get some quotes from dealers and the online places, whatever is highest.

It’s an awesome time to sell

Not about Tacoma’s, but my wife and I traded yesterday our 2017 Sienna with 103k miles, bald tires, and mediocre exterior/interior for almost 20k at our local dealer (17200 cash plus 2500 payoff). We traded for a new Sienna, got a decent sale price considering the market (1000 off msrp), but I think we really got lucky as the van was a refused special order (someone didn’t like the color in person, I think the cypress looks awesome).

Yeah I agree with Six, great time to sell.

Vehicle prices are up in 40-50k range ..by far the worst time to sell unless you have a second vehicle and looking to make some cash .

Carvana has always been low for me for some reason. Check out Vroom and look at prices around you for similar spec'd trucks and maybe go private.

Never really sold a vehicle before. How does sales tax work into the mix?

Vroom is saying 36.4k. Yes for the 2019. I probably won't ever get rid of the 03.

I don't need to buy another truck at this time. Probably look at something in a year or 2. If I can make a little I'd be happy.

I recently traded my ‘03 tacoma with 205k miles in on the 2020 I have now. Carvana offered me $4500 for the ‘03, the dealer allowed me $9,800 on it and listed it for $13,900 and they sold it in less than a week. Carvana also offered us $45,000 on our 2019 suburban, the dealer offered us $52,000 sight unseen. Carvana sucks. We decided to keep the suburban.

You may be better off with a private sell too.

Check Carmax, I have a 2020 version of your truck and my offer was 38K. I will say that the offers have been slowly sliding backwards, so the high sell prices may not be here for much longer. They send me a new offer about every 2 weeks or so and it has slid from 38.5 to 38 in about 4 weeks.

Dump it and don’t look back. But don’t expect
5k off sticker on a new one because you’re smarter than the other guys, there is a reason used trucks are worth a lot
