So i'm planning on going on a date with this girl friday, but before she can go I have to call her dad and ask to meet him and also ask permission to take her out on a date. What would be the best way to word that question? I have to call him tomorrow and have no idea what to say!

Call and tell him you'd like to take her on a date and that you'll have her home by eleven or twelve.

    but in all of seriousness...

just be honest. Don't promise to be a god-like man of immense class and wealth, but be up front.

"with all respect sir, I am interested in your daughter and was wondering if I can have your permission to date her."

and be prepared to answer the following q's he will ask you about yourself.

    ^^^^^^

word for word what I did...

Call. Ask to talk go to his home or workplace small gift (potted flowers) optional.
Be straight up, Ask his permission. Look him in the eye. Be over the top respectful to him and your self. If you can't respect your self to look nice and be clean then you don't respect his daughter very much either. Then bring her home 10+ minutes early to impress. Ohh and laugh some don't act to scared. try and find something you can talk about. Do what ever it takes to look like a normal none rappest nice guy. Ohh and put on a belt, I don't know you so I'm not sure if that's normal for you or not but the lack of can make fathers angry

FWIW ... just be yourself and be polite ... I call most males (regardless of age) "sir" ...that comes from the military ... he might like that too.
