Agree with you, I don't feel I lost any power in my switch. The power feels different. But I have definitely not been disappointed at all with the switch.

It was all in the spirit of learning and asking questions, which have been given satisfactory responses! We're all good here - I got the information I wanted about tuneups that help with pickup.

Well technically the 2nd gen made more torque. 266 at 4000 rpm vs 265 at 4600 rpm. A whopping 1 more ft lbs of torque that is.

Alright, you got me there. Next time you torque a bolt to one lb ft, let me know how strong that is...

Glad you're okay! Great choice on a 3rd gen too! The 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road DCLB in Cavalry Blue is probably one of the hardest configuration to find. Cavalry Blue sold for 1 model year for non-TRD Pro models. Idk why but Toyota didn't sell a whole lot of DCLB in cavalry blue, so thats epic!

There was only one available in the country! And for it to have only 15,000 miles? Dreamy

Oh, the power of the internet to turn "I've heard it's a bit less powerful in acceleration" to " a slow pig" ;)
It's lovely, and has strong power. I've tested only in town and on a small hill so far.

So far, I've noticed slightly slower pickup when doing something like merging from a standstill into traffic over 45 - it hesitates and I have to mash the gas and then it roars into action and picks up pretty quickly. So, a bit softer in the 0-60 side of things, but quite nice above 2nd gear. That said, I really love how smooth a ride it is, the whole thing is a MASSIVE upgrade in terms of features, amenities, etc. I've already hauled a washer/dryer to my house (did I mention that I bought a new home the day before someone totaled my truck, AS I was towing all my belongings?) and it does all the great things a pickup should do!

Up next: a tuneup to address the engine power, as discussed, beefy M+S tires before winter hits, and a capper. Also taxes and registration o_O

    I've noticed, and appreciate it.

So I guess my question is: what's something cool my 2019 Gen 3 TRD Off-Road does/has (full interior package, whoa) that I might not know about or pick upon right away?

Last night I opened my moon roof and my mind was blown.

Alright!! I've driven it a week now, including over my region's twisty windy passes and am definitely seeing and appreciating what I've heard from ya'll.

Verdict: handles like a dream, though the bigger body and length (and maybe skittishness from collision?) have me feeling kind of awkward on the road. I'm not cornering as smoothly or tightly as I used to in my Gen2, but maybe that'll come with familiarity.

The engine power really does come into play when passing - around here it's a lot of 1-lane in each direction that opens up into very occasional passing lanes, almost always on an uphill. It's more work to get around people out the gate, but so long as I am able to sustain, I'm nearly scaring myself with how quickly and smoothly I go from 40 to 80 mph... but they shouldn't be driving 35 in a 55 zone

The interior package makes me feel like a fancy broad.

I've already: Hauled a washer dryer, a snowblower, a new bike, and carpooled for one last ski day. Successfully is a truck!

Also everyone in town LOVES it - that blue is a looker.
