"We asked Sweers if the problem was resolved in the 2016 model. "Completely gone," Sweers said. "If you can find it, I'll buy you dinner."

But what caused the problem in the first place? Sweers said it was a combination of angles and manufacturing tolerances. He said the new truck has a completely new differential with new spring sets and corresponding angles. This basically changed the driveshaft angle, which resolved the problem."

Toyota, thanks for screwing over all those with a current warranty and not fixing the driveline vibe they are experiencing by stating it is not there or to live with it when they are clearly recognizing it as a issue.

What a complete joke by Toyota.

Awesome. Traded a driveline vibration for an ugly-ass front fascia.

I agree it's bs that it's been a problem for long. But I wasn't aware that people were getting turned away?! No shit?

But wait...everyone here is saying it's the same 'ol truck, just a new front and rear end, LOL. They probably improved a lot more, which would make us all look stupid for buying anything Gen 2.

    Just sayin'.

Well that's straight bs. Yota has issued a TSB at least for 12+. I would imagine people could take legal action and quite surprised that they havent. my dealer gave no shit about fixing it. Although it did take them 2 weeks... so if any one wants to get it fixed drive to SC tthey'll do it.

Can I put the driveshaft out of a '16 into my '12?

I really do wonder if it's a 1 piece shaft.

I honestly doubt they did more than figure out which models needed which degree shims on the leaf packs.

Id bet the house its still a 2 piece drive shaft. If they were smart they did a double cardian joint at the center, and stiffened up the center carrier bearing, but i honestly doubt they went that far.

you could be right on the shim deal and the TSB for 12'-up trucks could of been a test so they could apply it to the 2016. But swears did say the 2016 has new running gear so that could change things. If they did improve the carrier bering and the truck Is pretty much the same as the gen 2's then maybe we can utilize it. My dealer performed the Tsb for me as well which geatly improved things. Of course if they did solve the vibe issues that will be thrown out the window as soon as someone lifts one and then we have "I lifted my 2016 now driveline vibrations" threads.

I'm sure once a 2016 lifted 2-3" will also probably need angle shims or ecgs bushings in front etc..

It will be quite interesting to see what these trucks have for the driveline.... looking at the frame (which doesnt look to be changed much at all) i dont see them doing much change to the driveline.

I wish someone would of stuck their camera under the damn truck and took a picture.
