Where were you shopping? Coopers arent even offered here in San Diego as they seem to be a very specialty item, the BFG and Duratracs were both around $180 each when I bought mine. $1000 sounds very excessive for a 265/75/16

this is around 25k of driving hard and multiple desert trips., no flats, leaks or sidewall failure.

Still has 11/32 and 12/32 tread

Noise was nothing compared to the MTRs I ran for a month before getting the Duratracs

First off I think the Duratrac is a excellent tire...but. In all honesty OP it depends on how far you commute a day and what your daily driving conditions are. I had the same size on my DD and truthfully as much as I liked the tires the gas was killing me and in my case it was overkill. My commute is 55 miles round trip with 10 minutes of stop and go each way and large hills. I was getting 17 at best with babying the hell out of the gas pedal. Like you I also tow a trailer and I do about 5% gravel roads when I go hunting and ATVing. Never had a problem with them in blizzards or in mud puddles but the road noise was loud and it simply is not a good road driving tire. If I had a short commute and didn't take as many road trips as I do I would suggest them but if you do I would look elsewhere. And I my case the Michelin LTX took me just as far as the Duratracs which means I would never use them to their full potential.

The best all around tires I've had were by far General Grabber AT2's. Performed great on and off road as well as in the snow. Also cheaper than duratracs and ko2's. You can't go wrong with any of those 3 tires though

I would have to say there is no way you have ridden these hard in 25k miles, no sidewall wear at all implies no air down for off roading. I have about 12k on mine and I have already been through 2 tires, they are fantastic for on and off road but they do not take a beating very well. Depends what your looking for, if you off road they are great but make sure you get certs cuz they will not hold up. Thats if you get into any good stuff, I like climbing up rocks and ish!

At least 6 desert trips aired down to 10-15 psi and 25k mostly freeway miles.. and I drive hard all the time, hard cornering and heavy foot shifting.

Dont care if you believe me but hey facts are facts..

if you only get 12k out of your tires, you need to reevaluate your driving... That is not typical for anyone.
All cases of tire ownership are different, I dont drive over anything that would puncture my tires unless im a complete tool with where I aim them...
Proper psi on the street, being rotated and balanced and having a good alignment are key to longevity in tires.. :burnrubber:

These tires aren't for rock crawling (no AT really is, and few will hold up), plenty of other tires meant for that.

It was more the 4 wheeling tore them up, side wall damage, they still had at least another 30k miles left on tread but they didnt look as new as yours. For most of the wheeling I do these are perfect, sometimes I get on some knar stuff and they still perform amazing, just cannot take a beating. I love how quiet they are on highway

Also, after reading the forum, I just wanted your opinion regarding fitment, with the 265/75/16 Load Range C (6 ply) Duratracs I shouldn't having any rubbing etc.. on my stock truck.... Thanks.

I just got 265/75R16 Duratracs in Load C installed. I can definitely tell they are a heavier and stiffer tires with the stock suspension. Didn't take any of the flaps off and just a little rub on them on full turns. Will be swapping my stock shock for 5100's set at .85" this weekend and an alignment to my specs should eliminate the rub.

I'm trying to decide what to do, what would you choose?

    Hankook Dynapro AT-M (P265/75/16) -> $198 not on sale

Goodyear Duratrac (LT265/75/16 Load range C) -> $202 on sale (Plus $40 rebate) (reg. price $253)

Will be using stock everything and would like to keep the mudflaps to reduce road rash...

Sorry for asking but I need to decide because I need new tires and sale ends today....

I had none on my 2009 Prerunner but the 09s did not have the little mini flap in front of the wheels.

I'm at 56k miles on mine and they are still going strong. Still have plenty of tread.

I went to Discount Tire/Americas Tire for the Duratracs. I paid $179 a tire in 265/75R16 C plus they had a $70 rebate. My second choice was Cooper ATP's.

I'm in Canada on an island in the North Atlantic so everything is more expensive. I think the price is good for Duratracs then :)

$198 vs $202? Duratracs are way better tires than Hankooks.
