    Just getting started...
I'm actually really glad I saw this thread so I know I'm not going nuts. I bought my `18 TRDOR while here in England (mil car sales) in June and I've put 10,500 miles on it so far. The kevlars are absolute garbage in the wet. They're nearly useless off road as well.

Needless to say, I'm currently shopping around for a new set. Think I've settled on KM3's, but it's a case of finding them at a price that's not going to leave my wallet on fire.

If you think about it I bet 90 percent of higher of these two models will never see a gravel road let alone any real off roading. I’m probably in that group unless a rescue call happens while I’m in my Tacoma that takes me off-road and that still wouldn’t be in a rock climbing type situation. The Goodyear’s to me have been great in the rain and the big snow we recently had, maybe the best I have ever had on a pickup truck. That said I’m wanting a set of BFG’s for the looks alone.

This. If they outfitted the TRD Off Roads with full on rock crawling trail competition tires they would have FAR more complaints about “My new TRD Off Road only gets 15 MPG”. I for one, bought somebody’s TRD Off Road wheels and tires with only 500 miles on them and feel they handle very well, I’m getting 20mpg and gives it a good look. I do 10% mountain off-roading and 90% mall crawling. I think they are a good trade off.

My TRD Sport with TRD Off Road wheels/tires.

This is a damn good point! When my wife and I were shopping for my Tacoma, we were both commenting on how badass the TRD O/R 4Runners looked with those Nittos and T4R wheels. There was no comparison! I told her I could be perfectly happy if they came stock like that on the TRD Off Road Tacoma and wouldn't feel the need to upgrade!
In retrospect I should have bargained for them on my Tacoma before signing...Makes me wonder why they would do it on the 4Runner TRDOR and not the Tacoma TRDOR...?

I will say as far as Tacos go, the Sport wheels and tires were my absolute least favorite (just my opinion ,i know many like them). The main reason I would not have bought a Sport (which is a weak point I KNOW). I don't blame you for swapping out. Looks good!

First thing I replaced were the tires. Sold them on Craigslist for a decent price (as they only had 200km on them).

My tire of choice has been General Grabber AT2s. They are quiet on the highway, and less expensive than K02s. Another option that people overlook are the Falken Wildpeaks. A buddy of mine has these on his 4Runner and has had no cmoplains so far.

The road between Saline Warm Springs and Steele Pass is very rocky! I'm surprised my Kevlars made it through that with no issues...

Shoot me a messege next time you are passing through the area!

Maybe, but the most offroad capable vehicles from other companies all come with more aggressive tires (Wrangler Rubicon, Raptor, Colorado ZR2). Even the 4Runner TRD Pro comes with better rubber...why not the Taco?

I have seen no noticeable difference in MPG with my new tires. Only difference is the ride is a bit harsher cause mine are 10 ply

You are lucky if you saw no difference in MPG's, I have a set of BFG KO2's that I run for severe snow and mountain use, and I drop 2MPG at the drop of a hat when they go on. That is why I like these Goodyear's for the basic around town and occasional mountain use. If I know we are going skiing, snowshoeing in the high country, it takes me 15 min with two jacks to change to the KO2's and I don't wear them off on the highway where I do 90% of my driving.

Got rid of my wrangs on day two of ownership. Discount gave me $50 each in trade for KO2's. $600 for KO2's ain't bad I guess.

Mine are at 21,000 miles and one of them has a pretty gnarly crack in the sidewall, otherwise they're in fairly good shape. Decent amount of tread left, no leaks at all. Almost looks like a slash but I'm not convinced because no other tires showed damage, and this one is still holding air. Gonna buy some Cooper ST MAXX in the spring me thinks.

I have Michelins on my wife’s 4WD Sequoia. Great ride and grip in all seasons. Surprisingly good in the snow. Never taken them real “off-roading”...just off pavement a few times. Highly recommend them.

Kevlar my ass. Popped this tire twice. First was a split tread block that slow leaked.

Best part is Goodyear said sorry for your bad luck.

I've destroyed more Goodyears than any other brand. Never again

Follow up on orig post...Discount Tire in FWTX was able to plug the tire, for FREE, even though I didn’t purchase it there and had no warranty or anything. They also did it in less than 30 mins. Highly recommend Discount Tire.
