Are the Duratracs any louder on the highway?

They're the best of both worlds. It's hard to beat em. And yeah I got a really good deal on them. Mounted and balanced.

...crap...bottom line the second-gen came off the lot better equipped with 'Rugged-Fails'. Had no flats on the corrugated gravel out there.

Arb summit bumper. Morimoto led headlights and new grill. Grill and lights have sequential turn signals.
After the wrangler kevlar wore out around 40 thousand.
I found out the auto manufacturers get tires that are soft to get better mpg, the Goodyear website advertised the same tires as a 70 K tire.
I went with attro trailblade and like them better, still getting the same mpg.

Popped the stock tires three times...
    Got them patched.

Tried KO2s, and they were great but with only E-rated in my size, they were just too heavy.

I am now using Goodyear ultraterrians in an SL rating. I hope they don’t perform like the stock Goodyears.

Correct me if I am wrong but wouldn’t Toyota be asked to repeat the official mpg measurements and crash test with those tires if they come as factory installed. Reduced mpg would definitely not make a strong selling point. Plus off-road tires are much stronger and not likely to blowup and compress during an accident. It could reduce the safety rating, making a secondary bad rep.

I have KO2s. They are pretty decent but heavy as we're my Cooper ST Maxx on my old jeep. Tried Duratrack - thought they were junk. Split sidewalls and once 1/2 of the tread was gone traction really was hampered. I like the Cooper's overall and have ran them on Jeeps and F250 work trucks. Stand up tire.

Wildpeaks are pretty good tires, I stuck with stock size but still a major upgrade over the stock kevlars.

Unpopular opinion, but I think the stockers are great! I've shredded some ko2s in my other truck drifting offroad in 2wd, these don't have a scratch on them so far. I try to avoid the sharper rocks with them, but there's been a few times I didn't see one and was pleasantly surprised to not have to pull out the spare.

Can't speak to longevity since I'm only 8k deep, but given they're worth $500 max on Craiglist here, I'd be happy with 20k

Been running the goodyears with kevlar for years, and now on my tacoma. Seems the sidewalls are fairly well protected, but a did get a flat once on the tundra when a good size screw when right into the treads. Replace it with a tire plug, and good to go again. As far as tread life, they don't quite make to what they claim....40k and their toast.
