Called @Discount Tire today...SL 265/75/16 are back-ordered likely through early October. Kind of a bummer since I need something sooner.

Stock TRD sport suspension. Slightly larger than 265 65 stock tire size and they look good, feel good on the road, no hwy yet. Just surface roads up to 55mph with no hum. In the front about 1-2 in clearance when a cock my tires against the air dam or my rekgen mud flaps. Back is fine. I can tell the sidewall armor is much milder than a KO2 or my last truck's Destination ATs but my Off roading will be the hunting 2 tracks up north and the snowflake symbol on them means...they're good in snow? Idk. What do you guys think. Should I be worried with the slight increase in tire size? Discount Tire didnt think so.

Wish discount tire would roll out a 255/85/16. I am really liking the on road characteristics of these. Very responsive, quite, and the pliable compounds soak up bumps. Can’t wait to get them dirty

So I'm a bit confused with these tires: Does the SL version only have 2 ply? Most other manufacturer's tires have 4 ply for the SLs. I'm a bit worried given that I drive on Forest Service backroads that can be a bit rocky and the sidewalls might give out. I went through my OEMs Wranglers w/Kevlar and they did OK but a lot of other folks complained of sidewall failures. Another concern is there is no mileage warranty on DTs website. No info on GYs website since the tire is sold only through DT. My OEM Kevlars were basically worn out at 22K mi. Only about 5/32 tread left at the beginning of winter, which is too low for snow country. Compounding my quandary is the closest Discount Tire is 2-1/2 hours away. Also looking at the Toyo Open Country II and Falken Wildpeaks. I drive in snow 5 months of the year so the Mountain Snowflake is a plus. Too many choices..

@Hiker46 Yes they are 2ply sidewalls. The service guy at discount tire said the ultra terrain’s have really strong innovative compounds (with the rubber of course) whatever that means. That is probably complete bullshit. To be safe would say they are on par with the duratracs which do not have stellar sidewall strength. Overall I am impressed with the tire. Weight and cost were big factors. I would say the compound seems like it may be too soft so they may wear fast but I am just speculating, someone who’s had them longer might chime in

    Looks awesome!

I just ordered a set of F5's in 3.5 bs Gunmetal Color, Was looking at the Falken Wildpeaks and stumbled onto these tires while I've been shopping. How do you like them so far? Paired with this particular F5 this makes for one pretty light Wheel/Tire combo for an AT tire this size. Has MPG taken a big hit? how about Road noise.

I've had Duratracs in this size in the past and was very happy with them, esp in the snow.

Got a Price match right now with DTD for 5 Wildpeaks in 265 75 16 for $697 delivered to door. Not sure I can pass that up. They wont come anywhere near that on the 5 ultra terrains @ $866.36 delivered. these are for the 116t versions of both tires. Hmm
