Before my UltraTerrains, I was running Michelin LTX A/T2s. As I posted above, their crisp turn-in response was better than the UltraTerrains, but they had a noticeably stiffer ride. UltraTerrains, in my experience, provide a much more comfortable ride. Both were load range SL. The aspect ratio was different, though -- my LTXs were 265/70-16 and my UltraTerrains are 265/75-16. My point is, I don't think you'll miss the ride quality of your LTXs.

Sorry to disappoint anyone but this tire in a size 265/75R16 (SL) does not weigh 40 pounds like what is listed on the Discount Tire website.

I thought it was a little odd the 265/70/16 version is listed at 42 pounds and the 1" larger 75 version is listed at just 40 pounds. So I contacted Discount Tires and asked them to weigh one. They did and told me it weighed 43.3 pounds. Quite a bit off from the listed 40 pounds. He said he was going to report this to the product team so I'm guessing at some point they will update the website with the correct weight (I'm guessing it will be listed at 43 pounds). I'm a little disappointed as I was thinking about getting a set to use as a second set of tires on the stock rims for long distant highway travels as my regular tires are a 33" heavy E load. But might as well get a Duratrac as it only weighs about a pound and a half more and in a C load which has more plies so should be a tougher tire.

Thought I'd pass this info along as it seems a lot of people chose this tire based on its weight.

Wow good to know. I’m not a tire expert... how much difference do you think those 3 lbs would make... any at all?

Picked these up in 265/75/16 SL a couple weeks ago. 2 have been replaced over the last couple weeks because of vibration/balance issues. Everything seems good now though as all are under 15#'s of road force, the two that were replaced were at or above 40#'s. Great looking tire and rides nicely. Not much louder than my stock tires. No big weather with them yet but after a first light rain of the season last night they didn't break traction at all. With the discounts and rebate I was at around $600 OTD for 4 of them. I traded in my 5 stock tires and that covered getting a spare in the same size and specs. These tires look great.

Wow that is a great price wasn’t able to get em that cheap even with the Labor Day sale and my trade in tires (Michelin LTX almost new at 11/32).

Did you need a discount tire credit card for some of the discounts?

So I’m getting these tires installed this week.

I put K02s in my truck as soon as I left the dealership. Drove 10K miles, K02s were great for those first 10k. Then I hit 1 pot hole. Threw my alignment off. Have a 60 miles commute to work and noticed the balance of the tires were off too. Got an alignment and balanced tires. Tires were out of balance still. Went back to rebalance. They said all the tires were out of balance from 1 day of driving. Long story short 3 attempted balancing in 10 days, K02s never balanced right. Tried to file a claim and had to go to discount tire(where I got install) so they can start the claim. With talking to the manager and him be nice he said he’ll replace the tires for $80 any brand I want.

So there’s my bad luck with K02s and heres to hoping to good luck with these. I average about 2.5k miles a month. Will update when I hit 10K if I remember. Manager said K02s are just to heavy for Tacoma’s and these should work a lot better. I hope, from reading what most of y’all have commented I think I’m making a better choice lol.

Can someone measure the height of one of these mounted on their truck in a 265/75r16 and at what psi? Curious to see what the height is when mounted compared to the listed 31.7 height. Currently running a 285 tire but considering getting a set of these. Thanks!

2 months later as I’m putting air in my tires, I noticed the tire says E load, when I ordered sl load (even checked my email to make sure). Does anyone have a pic of their tire showing SL load? I contacted America tire and they said they sent an email out to the manager at the closest shop , but I just wanna make sure I’m not an idiot and have photo evidence that there is in fact SL stamped onto the tire.

it would honestly explain a few things. For instance my last tore was the same size and weight as These SL load tires but my mpg decreased by 2 on average. Also the e loads are about 44 lbs heavier all together so I gotta find out what’s going on here.

Just getting these installed. Pic soon!

It is the weirdest thing, like everyone says, these tires look so much more aggressive in person than in pictures.

I’m not sure why they just don’t photo quite as well as the others.

Cloudy day, but this gives you an idea.

    265/75/R16 - SL

Got these 16” wheels used and will be selling the limited ones that came off of it.

Not sure about the TRD Center cap inserts. What do y’all think? Might buy some OEM ones on eBay?

Dang it... Paid for the SL tires and they put the load range E on here.

would not have even thought to look until I saw the post from @v8rboi. Seems to be a thing that happens. They did feel a bit heavier.

I just called discount tire and they said they would swap them out for me in a few days.

So on your reciept it said SL? Or Load index 116? E loads are 123 or more. I know I checked when I bought mine. 116 is pretty stout. I had Load C LT's that were 112.

    Receipt said SL 116 but I got E 123

Suppose it was my fault too for not checking but either way the manager at America tire ordered me the correct ones and I’m getting them replaced at no charge! Really the best customer service
