Just put new Wranglers on my '03. I'm pissed! They are loud on concrete highways, hop slightly over bumps, and shake the whole truck at highway speeds.

Had them balanced 2 times to exact spec and still does it. All torques are good. Truck was fine with old tires.

Just wanted to rant about my problems to someone. Spent $850 on garbage. Knew I should've gotten the Toyo's.

Apparently the goodyear store I went to doesn't do that. And I don't really want to spend another $80+ in case that doesn't fix it. I have a 30 day return policy if the shop doesn't come up with something to fix it.

I have silent armors on my 01. In the ±35,000 I put on them, I had to balance them 3 times. They are in need of balancing a 4th time I just haven't done it. Not too good in the snow either. God I miss my Revos!

Luckly I got the guarantee. I actually bought the wranglers because of the guarantee knowing I can switch if unhappy. The Toyo's don't have any guarantee, but I am sure they will be good.

    Not helping...:D

The shaking is definitely because the ding dongs at the tire shop didn't balance them correctly. Trust me on that one. Really pisses me off that 90% of the tire guys are clueless. Sorry I'm not helping but you're in for a real challenge finding a tire shop worth anything. Roadforce, Haweka adapter, Hunter balancer, blah blah blah. The problem is the the guy doing it.

Anyone in his parts of the country that may have a good shop he can go to?

when i bought my 2000 it came with silent armors and i was kinda excited because i work for a fleet service dept. that puts those on alot of our equipment and the users all like them for the most part. But the first day i drove to work the truck was shaking like crazy. so i had them balanced by our tire guy and they still shook the truck. so then we road force balanced all of them and they still shook like crazy. my buddy (the tire guy) said part of the problem was from the previous owner not rotating them enough so there were out of round. but still i was bummed out. So then i spent $650 on michellin ltx ms's, couldnt be happier!

Sorry to hear. I had the same problem with the BFG AT's a while back. I had them rotate and balance 3X and it still hopped around a lot. I finally got fed up and took them back and switched them out for some Michelin MS2's and love them!

Yup, I had the same problem with my goodyear wranglers. Great tires but the vibrations on highways and high speeds were too much. Seemed like it was the larger lugs. Anyway, I went to the nitto terra grapplers and am very satisfied.

Went back to the shop today. The guy took time out of his day to thoroughly clean the inside of my rims and lugs, scrap all wheel weights, and recalibrate his tire balancer before rebalancing my tires a 3rd time. Fixed the vibration! I'm very pleased with the outcome and I wish more places had that good of customer service.

You make it sound like he did you a favor. He should have done it correctly the first time but he was a lazy ass. Glad you got it fixed!

It was the shop manager that did it this time. The other times it was the regular idiots. He stopped working on the truck he was doing and got mine in right away and got it done quickly.
