    Hey sorry this might be way off topic. But does anyone have a general idea in the difference in GoPros?

    I am picking one up this weekend and just want to invest wisely.

    Primary use would be vacation 3 times a year with the wife to Mexico, central America.... and such activities as surfing, 4wheelin, ziplining.

    Outside of my 3 vacations a year, maybe to the beach here and there and maybeeee a Vegas poolparty.

    Not looking for hardcore technology, just a good quality peice, user friendly with sufficient memory.

    Thanks !! :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::bikewhoops::bikewhoops:

    I'm no expert, but am currently looking at a basic Hero+ right now. The idea of controlling it from my phone and being able to stream live to said phone (from what I understand, at least) is the appealing factor for me. I borrowed my friend's recently and strapped it to my front license plate to take videos of some off roading, which was great, but when I got it home and tried cutting it up into highlights, discovered that 1080 is unnecessary and makes editing all but impossible. Memory is via external cards, so you can go as big or small as you want.

    As far as I can tell, the Hero does 760 and 1080 while the higher end models up the resolution to completely unnecessary levels as you get more expensive. There are probably a few other subtle differences too that I'm not aware of, but that's my limited experience.
