I have a GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition and getting a Mac Book Pro at the end of the month. Should I get a different editing program or is iMovie sufficient?

I want the quality of the movies you see on say, Red Bull commercials and such. I know I'm going to have to learn to use it because I'm a noob when it comes to editing, but hey you have to start somewhere.

    I don't own a Taco anymore.
If you want that quality editing, I'd go with Final Cut Pro.

Yes, it's Apple. Get the FCP, it's not that expensive, and is jammed pack with options that will be beyond your experience and you can grow into.

yeah that's what i think i'll start with. after reading about different programs, i'll get familiar with what i'm doing and then move up if needed.

does imovie have an ability to increase clip quality? i have a clip that's in sorta low light and would look awesome if it was enhanced

No program can increase the FPS. The video will record at whatever FPS you shoot at, in my case it was 30fps. But the program allows you to speed up or slow down the speed of the playback, which is what gives you the effect I have. This video was at 1.75x speed.

I say check your YouTube settings, and then which output you're using (ex: MP4, H2.64) from iMovie. You should be able to change the settings in one or the other, as to where, I'm not an iMovie guy.

lol Sorry. Start w/ YouTube because they'll have easy step by step instructions on uploading. If that's not where the problem lies, look at iMovie's final compression - I use other software, but Apple programs tend to all have the same interface at this point. For example, you choose "YouTube" or "iPhone" or something and that is how the video gets compressed - for it's final destination. Maybe when you output to "YouTube" in iMovie there are extra settings when choosing which video you want. Any of that make sense? lol
