Got a check engine light (My first since buying the truck new). Hooked up my scanner and there are no manufacturer codes (DTCs) associated with the CEL.

But, there were 4 readiness exceptions (C, EV, OH and O systems). The vehicle always runs great. Made sure the gas cap was tight and reset the memory.

    2004 Tacoma. 3400 cc engine.

    Any thoughts on this?

It has to be throwing a code to trip the MIL.

Maybe defective scan tool? Try another one or stop at a parts store and see if they can read it.

if the light was on steady there should be a code. If it went off while driving then there "might" be a code stored. There is also the possibility that there could be a pending code. I do not know what scan tool was used so I do not know its capabilities or if it is compatible with your truck. See if your scanner has freeze frame info too.

Does your scan tool read ABS?

ABS or Transmission Code not often read by the low cost readers.

Then if it is a scanner it should be able to read everything
