Not one bit of sympathy from me. You deserve whatever you get. I hope you lose your license, maybe then you'll learn something.

i hope the op isnt looking for sympathy, cause he sure as hell isnt getting it-- ive done it but im not proud of it-- i drove and had to get my truck home somehow-- however if i was to the point that i felt like i couldnt safely operate a motor vehicle, i would hand over the keys immediately

here's my extrapolation to the logical extreme ...

don't waste your money on a gun for a gunfight,
save the money for the medical treatment you'll need after getting shot to pieces

no sympathy on the incident - just glad you didn't hurt anyone else. Take it from someone who's been there, drinking is just not worth it. period.
No issues with people that do drink responsibly, it'd just not for me.
Haven't picked up in 12 years. Best decision I EVER made.
I wish you well getting back on the right track.

You did it. It's happened and nothing you can do about it now, but to try and fix this and any other issues you may have. It is fixable. It will cost you in many ways. I wouldn't wish a DWI on my worst enemy. Years and years ago people would get away with 3,4,5,6 and more of them at times. It has changed for the better. It's going to be tough and it's going to be a while before you can go a single day without thinking about it. I don't know if you have a problem with drinking and I will not accuse you of it. But will accuse you of risking someones else life and your own. I myself do feel bad for you. I'm sorry for all the financial loss, the time, the mental anguish and the embarrassment. Like I said above, it's done and in the past. You need to keep marching forward and fix it. And remember, you didn't kill a young girl, a father, mother or any loved one, you got lucky. So keep looking ahead.

Take this and learn from it, at least it was only a DWI, could have been much worse for you or someone else. Good luck to you.

if your BAC was under a 0.1 then have your lawyer fight for a wet and reckless. If your lawyer is good then you can have the lawyer meet at the DMV hearing and get your license suspended for a month and then restricted to work and school or what not pending your sign up for the first offender wet and reckless DUI class and provide an SR22 from your insurance. Lawyer will cost around $2500 and if you can get a wet and reckless then your fine will be under $1k.

Stop making assumptions, you sound like an asshole.

It is bad, I have known people who have died from this, one person who posted had a immediate family member die from it so, shut up and sit down.

I have no sympathy for you. I lost my father to a drunk driver and I lost both my niece and nephew at the same time to a drunk driver. Be responsible or do all us innocent drivers a favor and run you truck of the side of a mountain so innocent people stop dying because of stupid decisions. seriously.
