Will a second gen fit a third gen? Any modification needed?

looks great the two tone looks good on silver. I should know, I like the midrise but may trade for a cab height topper.

I always kinda wanted a mid-rise instead of my cab height cap, lol!

I'm curious tho, what is not good about having a bit more headroom?

It’s a simple case of you want what you don’t have lol. I got the mid rise specifically to camp in and I haven’t camped much. The extra space is beneficial but I’ve been liking the cab height toppers. I would probably have the cab height for a bit and want the mid rise again haha. Plus I have the little 2.7 always wondered what the aerodynamic difference is between the cab/midrise.

In the club!! Swapped my original dealer installed cab-hi snugtop for an ARE midrise with windoors. Love the extra height for camping and hauling, and the windoors changed my life. I don’t think I’d ever own a topper without them again, it’s great being able to access the whole bed… no more crawling in and out just to grab a pair of boots or needing to unload everything just to get to the back of the bed. I picked up mine for 1800 from a local dealer, but it was basically brand new and only $200 more than purchasing the windoors and other parts I was gonna buy to refurbish a topper I have sitting in my garage. So now I can sell the other topper as is and be done with it. And after using the windoors for about a month, I’ve decided it was worth every penny.

Looks sharp cant beat windoors, i agree would not own another topper without them. I also prefer the 2 tone looks more like a truck and less like a suburban or suv when they are paint matched

Thanks! I am honestly 50/50 on matched or not. At the end of the day it's all details that don't really affect how I use the truck...
For the sake of discussion, my favorite look is still an older toyota color such as yellow, red, or blue with a white topper- for the reasons you said. IMO the black topper almost ends up looking "matching" again with all the other black on my truck (and also shows how faded all the stock "black" pieces are :(). 1st world problems I suppose!

Little bit of this and that
2 ½ years later but it did get the bedliner treatment. Turned out decent for a driveway paint job.

mines mismatched but it's kinda subtle depending on the light. 06' Access cab TRD prerunner is 040 super white, leer 122 is either silver streak mica or lunar mist metallic.

I can’t have a middy because it won’t fit in some parking garages.
